RyZiinG Your first novel won't be good. (I believe only at Volume 4/5 of my story, this Rabbink could make something that I will be proud.)
For example: Current first ranked author in Original AuthorWiz first account could write current Rank 1 novels after this many trials:
WizOFTime at RR
Very few could make a masterpiece.
The best thing is just start. Don't aim for popularity. Aim for you to practice.
If you look at my novel. The beginning is WORST. Gwahahaha. [Luckily, some people could move pass those Wall of Text and Information.]
The easiest genre is the one you like. Some people suggest FanFics since you don't need to make the background and characters. However, I don't think so. A Fanfic needs to 'know' about the original story and adhered to it.
Negative Feedback would always happen. Check my novels. People who like will give 5 stars, who hate will give 1 star. If you went to RR that would be even harsher, with critics everywhere. Go there only if you confident, their standard is higher.
Sometimes the critics are correct and helpful for me to fill some plot armor and find my weakness. Yet, not all suggestions should be added, as an author you should filter them. Whether that would add to your novel. Would that change your beginning 'goal'?
However, some critics are truly TROLLs. You can check the reviewers history, see how they commented to other novels. It is not hard to find a troll. If you see a troll. Just move on. They loved to make war.
Remember since you make novel for free. The one who should enjoy your story is you.
If you are afraid of feedback, then you should not publish it before it was completed.
If you want some 'check':
I would suggest you to 'study' (not read, read is for enjoyment) The Red Bride (It is a female novel, but even as a male you should check it). It is the best Original I saw based on the words fluidity and description.
Then check 'Reborn: Evolving From Nothing' if you didn't have SS or check The King's Avatar if you want to check the translation. If you want more sample.
'Showing and Telling' is the biggest barrier that made a difference between a good author like those and common author like this Rabbink. A common author could tell the story, but a good author could make the reader experience the story.
