Honestly just forget it. Read novels somewhere else or move on with your life. Qidian is just a big rip off club.
Remember when they startet and took over this buisness? they said "we wont lock chapters behind a paywall like we do in china". Then they introduced the premium system, in the beginning i accepted that and even spend money on ss but more and more novels went premium and the costs start to ramp up.
now they even stopped releasing free chapters without a word.
so all in all we went from "we wont paywall" ---> hardcore paywall in less then a year.
Dont get me wrong, im fine with paying for something i use. but this is just ridiculous.

I understand why this locking of all the old "free" chapters had to happen but there is one thing that annoys me.
Which is that it also locked chapters which the readers unlocked by paying SS to skip the ad-wall and now those same chapters have to be unlocked by paying SS.
So why are we being charged twice for the same content, you should at least refund the SS we paid to skip the ad or discount it from the full cost of the chapter.

So what do they do? they release their product for free but promise to be faster, bigger, better. with a promise "we will never hide content behind a paywall" which they broke when they released premium system.
then they did another promise "we will leave a way for free users... premium is just a way to support the autor/translator with a few guddys" which they broke again.
So yea i think my analogy was quite fitting. And i would bet that this is not the end of it.
