Anyone know what happened to otherworldly evil monarch? Hasn't posted chapters for the last two weeks
Otherwordly evil monarch stopped?
The answer has been posted in other posts. But let me shed some light on it.
Webnovel (Qidian International) has a contract/agreement with Wuxiaworld. Wuxiaworld provides translations of some novels to Webnovel. Otherwordly Evil Monarch being one (i think Transcending the nine heavens also from same translator). It is a complicated relationship, and Qidian often lets go of tranlators from Wuxiaworld and gets their own translators (I will leave the reasons for another post, but you can google it.)
So, Webnovel dropped the translator for OEM and TTNH called Novelsaga. They already got a new translator for the novels (as they stated in a previous post).
As it stands we need to wait for the new translators to pick up the novel, translate some extra chapters so they have some reserve, get the chapters approved at quality control, and then release it. This might take 2-6 months depending on number of translator and their speed.
Differently from OEM, Novelsaga released approximately 10 chapters of TTNH, probably the ones they had in reserve. They might do the same with OEM, but it probably depends on their agreement with Webnovel.
If the same tranlator picked TTNH and OEM that we might wait a bit longer, than if we had different translator for each.

mikroval what bullshit is this. Wuxiaworld does not provide translations of OEM and TTNH. The relation between WW and QI is different from what you say. WW does not provide its translations to QI, it is stolen by QI. But always stealing may not bring them much profit as they will always remain behind ww in that case, so they decided to translate about 50 chap ahead and start from there with their own translations on some popular novels from WW. They have contract issues with these novels. There are no translators of WW who work in QI except for the tl of AST on WW who also does AGM on QI and has not been fired for more than 1 year.
OEM and TTNH are a different case altogether. The group's release rate was horrible, they missed their releases, made empty promises for mass release. Also OEM was supposed to go to premium in june, but for some reason it didn't, could be because of the less than acceptable release rate for premium.
I swear I forgot how many times I have posted on ttnh and oem threads, where people are clueless.
kazuki23 It is from a readers point of view. Qidian is probably trying to grab as much of the market as possible.
One more speculation is that Webnovel has different contracts with Wuxiaworld and with Novelsaga (and other translators), so they can effectivly "fire" a translator for reasons stated in contract, and not infringe in the main contract with Wuxiaworld. Just a guess of mine, but that has been a modus operandi in the past when they sacked the previous translator of Swallowed star for breaking the agreement and posting premium chapters on their Patreon page, and If you think about it its kinda strange that the translator use Patreon as well as Webnovel to post. Why would anyone pay for stones, when they can get access to chapters through Patreon, and not only that, why would anyone log into webnovel in that case? (No log in = no advertisement revenue).
Either way its the reader to suffer.
ek123 Them being slow and late is a good point, and thats what they alweys did unfortunately, so I am kinda glad to see a new translator pick it up, but not so glad for the wait.
The relationship between Wuxiaworld and Qidian is strange, and very complex to me, but i dont really care that much as long as we get regular updates.
Most of the story can be gather from this blog:
http://bltranslation.blogspot.com/2017/05/licencing-scandal-between-qidian-and.html
And this announcment from Qidian earlier:

OEM is being hosted on Wuxiaworld as well (http://www.wuxiaworld.co/Otherworldly-Evil-Monarch/), but i think the main issue is Patreon posts. Its even more strange to me because in order to make money on Patreon you need to be at least hitting your base chapter goal, and Novelsaga was not.

That is an aggregator site. Aggregator site is a website that steals all the novels from the original translators' websites and show them all in one place without the consent of the translator. They profit through ads from translator's content. They are illegal but difficut to get rid of. Wuxiaworld.co is such an aggregator site, that's why you see OEM on their site. Wuxiaworld's page is this. Both are different websites.
I think Webnovel stopped NovelSaga because some complaints from readers. This is the place where Webnovel staff could communicate better.

Try to search old threads. CKTalon had explained the reason.
Oh
I just saw this thread & now I understand some reason, still I like all the translation of novel by Novelsaga.
Hopefully will be fed within 2-6 months.
I doesn't matter who translates the chapter after they start they at least do a mass release of 30 chapters
Looks like Iām back to lnmt
Nearly 1 month has been without a release of OEM :-(
it would be good already, if they would just release 1 chapter instead of a mass release so that we can at least read something :) and i hope that it wont be going Premium (not that good for the Translator -i know- but good for me and my SS :P
I hope Qidian and Novelsaga reach an agreement so that we can at least read some of the chapters that NS has saved up. No one profits if those chapters stay on a hard drive before new translator takes over.
