I just wanted to reread Realms In The Firmament again. But I found that all the chapters after Ch 55 are locked and I have to pay >8 spirit stones to unlock it.
Why do I have to pay in this situation? Can I not come back and read a novel again? Do Qidian people have to earn money in every dirty way possible?

Yeah. This is what happens when you read in a site that is money-oriented.
You actually have it quite good, (my grammar, lol) as several other books have far higher amounts of SS needed to be paid, depending, I believe, on the amount of chapters.

You'll have to get used to this quite quickly, actually, as most translated books here are locked, and a few originals that have been contracted are going to be in the future.

Then if you want to be able to freely read locked books, then there are always those (I forgot the word) sites like Novelonlinefree, Wuxiaworld, etc...
But if you want to truly read on this site, either you focus on a single locked book and save up on or buy SS, or just read novels that aren't locked yet.
