One vote per day is simply not enough for me! So many stories I want to see yet I am held back by my choices! Sure it would inflate the scores as people would vote multiple times for the same story but I am salty because the romance stories I want to read are not getting enough attention!
Maybe give 5 votes and each vote would give 1 spirit stone.

or release the first 2 books on the voting list, I still think 1 per week is not enough
Daoist_2759441935 To be perfectly honest, most people in my circle do not find reading as a hobby. It's a chore. Why read when you can watch? It comes to a point where although the video adaptations severely differ from the books, they will still insist on watching the show.
Then there's the culture. Suffice to say Chinese media isn't very prevalent in my society. If I were to recommend something I would try to recommend something that is easily relatable and unfortunately not many books on Qidian Intl. currently fit the bill.
However, I have introduced some of my friends to read a book and that is Pet King. It's currently the best book I can recommend to anyone not versed in literature of any sort whatsoever.

Kingfisher The problem is vote manipulation, so to combat this I suggest you pay some number of spirit stones per vote with each vote increasing in spirit stone cost
For example:
1st Vote Free + you get 5 Spirit Stones
2nd Vote 5 Spirit Stones
3rd Vote 8 Spirit Stones
4th Vote 12 Spirit Stones
etc....
Sadly, a lot of people are here for the action/cultivation stories. All others lag behind. My favorite stories are 'other' too.
But I hope they'll implement a "Translate at least one story per category" soon.
But it wouldn't be a competition if you could just get everything you want.

Luta Not necessarily. I mean you could have a voting per category but would also need a minimum number of votes for it to pass. So even if there were votes in the "Other's" category but if total votes didn't reached, for example, 500 votes, then the poll is null and void.
I think this system will give a chance for novel on each category while making sure there is actual interest in each category.
Syosetu, which is the biggest jp webnovel scene, even changed how thier ranking system worked. Previously all categories are ranked in a single system. But they had to change it becuase the ranking system was dominated by 1 genre and it didn't give a chance for other categories to get the exposure needed, which was the major complaint
