I'm currently reading a very good book, but it'll be so expensive in the future... Are there any books I needn't pay spirit stones for? And if it's the case, where do I see that thery're "free"?

I also not quite sure about that but if you want to read a story and not pay mostly before you start it check the chapters first and see if they are locked that way you don’t start a story and get attached to it before realizing you need to pay to read more hope this will help :)

If you are a new reader here are some tips:
- complete all but the invite 10 friends challenges to earn extra SS's and experience to level. This way when you do invite friends you get more value for it.
- check in daily for random SS's (usually 8 after your first month), use the red power stones to support your current authors book for +5 SS's and use the energy stones on one of the "What's next" books for +5 SS's. This gives you 18 SS's per day, but don't save them for more than a month or they are removed as they came.
- choose a book, there are a ton of options but I would start with the browse option and search by a category you normally read. There are a lot so look for books with a lot of 
's in the ratings and read what other readers thought of the book. Scan the last chapter to see if it is locked. If it is locked, check the SS cost, if 9 or less, you can read 2 chapters a day. Very few authors post more than that.
Authors who are smart in my opinion should maximize their cost at 9 SS's as they will maximize their SS intake by not turning away readers who read for free. Not only will it better promote their book, they will rake in all the free SS's other greedy authors are loosing. If they add a few bonus chapters a month, they can increase their windfall.
- check out new books, once you catch-up with your first novel give other authors stories a chance. There are some very original work here worth reading.
- once you have at least three levels, invite your friends and family to join. This will improve your rewards and you will have friends to discuss your favourite novels with.

I will give you a trick, you can invite as many as you can if you can create that many google accounts. just create a ton of google accounts. then copy the invite link to the clipboard. Then use a decent brower like opera and enter the link in the search bar. Then sign in using google and then you receive the ss. Then go to settings and clear data from opera. Then enter a different google account to sign in. Then repeat the process until you are tired of making google accounts. I once did this trick to get approx 2.1 k ss on my other account. Trust me this works.
Just start with original novels. very few of them make it to getting contracted, unlike the translated books that are contracted from the start. As well he authors are generally more interactive.
