I am writing a book and have rough idea what system will give the MC
The Emotional System
But I don't know how to perfect it
I can't decide how he will collect points I mean I have 2 options when will the MC gain the points
1.when he feels those emotions but must feel them at least a bit more strongly
2.when he evokes emotions in others
Which do you recomend?
Points will be classified according to emotions
sad, happy, grief etc. points which will be used to buy techniques or items so any idea on techniques and items will be welcomed
Also the system seems too OP so any suggestions for restrictions?
Thanks!

What about making so that he gain points every time he made an emotional decision, and every time it happen the affinity for that emotion becomes stronger and the opposite emotion got slightly weaker, affecting his personality.

Example : He made a decision which estimulate hate and his personality become more hateful and the mc find more difficult to fell love.

Not the best system i can think but can balance a little the OPness.

I mean, it depends on the story. I assume u want him to start off really weak and become strong, because duh. One thing you can do to limit a system is put limits on what he can access at the beginning, whether it be due to his location, environment, rank in the system, power, or plot devices. A system can be redundant if there is no way to gain strength: your goal is to let him exponentially grow, while others have a stable rate of growth. If ur stuck, just throw in some tropes. As for how he gets points, affecting others to get points develops in the way I really am a superstar does. tje main character expands influence and thus gets points way faster as time goes on. On the other hand, if his points increase due to himself, you rely purely on plot to drive him to progress. Not sure the genres you have in mind so I can't really help to much
