yunisao I'd say that's a very good ratio! :D Basically anything under 500 is good imo. Over a thousand, which I had for a long time, I would consider as atrocious XD

    So adding a new story to the list. Not going to attract much being infrequently updated since I have other story priorities. I added in a chapter for it today. I wrote this story years ago, even pitched it to a big brand publisher for fantasy genre and was given a response with fantasy potential, but no on the same-sex relationship. LGBT was not an element in fantasy stories. So, trying again in this day and age. Even still... sigh.

      Veronica8 That’s sad to hear. I wonder if they’d be okay with it now? The environment is a little better it seems; although, it’s still a little intolerant sadly.

      I mean I just had to read a story for history class narrated inside the minds/thinking of domestic terrorists, so if that flies, I don’t see why BL can’t.

          Chryiss I think these times are better since there is a lot more stuff being discussed out in the open thanks to social media. More people are wanting to be accepting and inclusive.

          Certainly places like Webnovel, Wattpad and RoyalRoad are giving writers the chance to write non mainstream stories.

          I feel more confident now that I can publish the works I want and give respect to my characters. So, it's all good. Just a bit more of a struggle to find an audience in comparison to your standard mainstream romances and genre stories.

                  Probably wouldn't recommend publishing there until they have a solid authoring platform where you can track stats. You can't promote within their site. You have to rely on twitter or other social media platforms to bring in an audience. It's another site with no html abilities, however you can delete your books. I like their clean format and distraction free reading. They don't have ads yet. I'm sure they will once they start being serious. At the moment I'm taking advantage. :smiley:

                        Just left a boost from one day in daily updates so I'll bleed collections for a couple of weeks.

                          I just started a story 2 days ago... sadly since I'm joining contest 63 i can only keep reupdating that one singular chapter T-T
                          but this new novel is doing far better than my actual, well thought out of novel. Sigh
                          Ratio is 28:1 because of the chapter being literally one chapter, with 897 views.
                          Once this contest is over, I might just put the other one hiatus and work on this one. I can only juggle one novel at the time.

                            Veronica8 OP of this thread had it, and I think usually new novels have higher ones depending if the author is more well known, or if it was in a contest. I had it happen with my tree story for a few days. It was blissful while it lasted lols~

                                Chryiss Really? I usually start of with 4 digits XD. I agree if you're already an established author with a solid following, it's natural for people to instantly check out the new stuff.

                                I'm happy with my numbers of late. They're not big time, but the consistent read interest is very reassuring. BL itself is a hard sell, so to have people continue to be interested is promising.
