Excluding the weekends which gives 15ss (by choice of Webnovel),
is always stuck at 8ss (from 6 January),
is it to make up for 15ss on weekends?
"Random" Daily Check always gives 8 SS
Not Sure, but so far you have been luckier than myself. I average 6-8 stones during weekdays, and only received average of 13 stones on weekends. I was also, very lucky one day and only received Exp on a weekend day.

it happens to give you 15 or 20ss (along with "very useful" EXP).
They should absolutely remove EXP and any other trash and leave only SS. (today I took 20exp :( )
The reward for the "watch video" is random, at least as I have seen.
I've got 8ss every day exept weekend too
Some days it is XP or power stones instead of SS. Just like how the amount of SS "randomly" given is reduced, as mentioned in the OP. Both are just some of the ways of reducing the amount of "free" SS you can obtain.
Similar idea but different mechanism is increasing the amount of actions that require SS. A sort of currency inflation if you will.
I you don't know what's going on! Since I've been on this site they keep asking me to download the app which I've already downloaded. I check in sometimes it lets me sometimes it done. I don't see what the points are added I don't even know what the exp is. I also don't know what to do with these energy stones. My check in and mission stones are not added.

i love this new feature, where i get useless XP i'm less than a 1000XP of level 6 and i use 1 power stone and 1 of the other stone and there's no reason to use more than that...so like...i'm getting useless stuff and it's already the 3rd time i get only XP this month alone, you guys are lucky

Its because they introduced new ways to earn spirit stones. Download the beta apk and there are a lot of new ways to earn them. So they have the daily stones reduced because there are too many ways to earn stones now. That's what I think anyway.

I'm trying the Beta ....
get 5 for PowerStone, 5 for EnergyStone, 5 for ADS,
and an unclear random daily-check amount in which I only took 8 or 9 SS for now.
So for now the average is at most 23-24 ... when before the daily average was 30.
Then there is a counter of minutes that from every tot 5 or 10ss (30,60,120,240,360,600)
With the latter we could get to the old average ...
But not everyone is reading 10 hours a week on the app ... especially when you do not have the SS to buy chapters ...
For over 2 weeks I have only got:
5ss for add watch
8ss or 20exp for daily check in or 16 +20exp on the weekend
Also when and why did the change the votes so instead of 5 per vote it's only for the first?
