How many words does each chapter usually have?
And how many words does a complete novel usually range?

That's a tough question... A chapter length of between 1200-1700 words is pretty much the standard judging from the stuff I read (and write).
As for completed novels, they vary. Hard. I've seen novels with 200-350 chapters, some with about 1.000 and other long novels with 2.000 or even up to 3.000 chapters. It really depends.
I think if you relatively keep your posts to about 2K maximum, you should be okay. This is to consider mobile viewing. Also short paragraphs as possible are ideal, to make it easier for the eye to travel down the screen.
A tips, do not prolong a single sequence over many chapters ;) (had some complaints about it in the start, but you shouldn't need to worry too much about such)
All the best! :)
lets_get_this_rice , thank you so much. I'll always put this in mind
lets_get_this_rice. If its more than a 3 part sequence it gets annoying just like the 15 episode fight scenes in DBZ
gents46. I try to shoot for 1000 but sometimes it's longer or shorter.
SouthToiletWizard , thank you so much for replying.
SouthToiletWizard , what's the meaning of DBZ?

gents46 Well, my novel has around 2000 - 2500 words in them per chapter and I think this length is enough to tell enough story in the chapter. I also started to read most of the top original novels in this site and they only got around 1000 - 1500 on them so it is really up to you how long do you want each your chapter will be. Hope this helps.
Nayamorac Most people these days suffer from TLDR syndrome I have to fight it myself sometimes. That's why I think most novels have shortish chapters.
You can judge approximately how many words are in chapters by looking at the SS cost of chapters on premium novels. The going rate is 1 SS per 200 words, calculated at the first word of each 200.
Depending on the book, from what I have seen, a standard translated chapter is either 7-8 SS (1301 - 1600 words) or 11-13 SS (2001 - 2600 words). At the same time, there are a lot of bossy CEO and FL transmigration novels which have very short word counts per chapter at 3-4 SS (401 - 800 words).
There isn't a large amount of consistency in Original novels though. If you write very long chapters, do be aware that if you go premium, people will be priced at the same rate. If you write exactly 4,001 word chapters, people are going to have to pay 21 SS for each chapter. As you can imagine, this may alienate a lot of readers who feel like it is simply too expensive (even though it is the same SS / word count) I've seen a lot of female readers complaining on bossy CEO novels about having to pay more that 4 SS on chapters.
