  • Concerned about losing account access once Google+ shuts down?

If you guys didn't know, Google has started the official process to shut down Google+. It's going to shut down for good by April and any Google+ sign in button is supposed to stop working sometime between now and then.

That's got me concerned I'll lose the ability sign in anymore, because the Google+ sign in method doesn't provide any fall back sign in methods. You can't even sign in with the exact same email address as your Google account - it just gets treated as a brand new Webnovel account.

Anybody know if webnovel is prepared for this? Has provided any way to protect those of us who sign in via the Google method?

      Well I just logged out and logged in through another form of verification. I always use the Google button to log in. I chose the email option this time and it prompted me to type in my email address as I have never used that form of logging in before and it just sent a code to verify through the email I provided them with. I would imagine if signing in through facebook/Twitter it will send the code to that instead. So I dont think you will lose your account.

        Jarom_Mauchley The issue is that Qidian counts them as two separate accounts, even though they use the exact same Gmail address.

        So all your SS would be tied to your Google+ account and not your email account

            Wagerng google+ might shutdown but don't forget it's just another platform for your google account. Your gmails won't be lost, they just closed g+ since they already owned youtube.

                I don't even see the Google plus log in. It is just Google, Twitter, Facebook, and email. Is the Google + even still available?

                  They should start making migration processes for google accounts. Or making another altermative process of login. Been also on webnovel for a year and will be also risking to lose all my unlocked chapters if google plus doesnt work.

                    Man wtf I can’t help but be worried now since most of my accounts are added from google+. I guess all I can do is wait till the sites shut down and recreate accounts for it. But that really sucks. Will my current Webnovel account be erased as well i wonder?
