erm why is it that i dont get any reward for checking in daily ? :o

You probably only received XP, with no SS. That was a change they made last year. Combined with the seemingly overall reduced daily check-in rewards, it could easily more than negate the addition of weekend "bonus" SS.
I've only gotten XP for the last two check-ins, I believe.
did you receive SS only for the most recent check-in ? since i did receive it the previous day and only did not for today
