There is a check for device. If it's the same device, it doesn't work. It's to prevent Invitation abuse.
That's dumb. Some people don't have the luxury of having multiple phones and have hand down phones (i.e. my siblings)

JimmieHammel read post above, they seem to patched the bug to prevent invitation abuse. So making new email and using your referal link won't work anymore.

What about resold devices? Could only use the app because my friend sold me her iPad mini as my cell phone is not great and thought a tablet would be better than a newer phone. Also have a pretty old laptop that doesn’t run well so tablet has been great instead ... there should be a different way to limit abuse of codes because there are also families who share devices like a tablet and would have different people log in. I am old enough now to have/buy my own but I still remember sharing computer time with or between the whole family because there was only 1 or fighting over TV time because there was only 1.
It is unfair to assume everyone will solely own their own devices when it comes to tablet.... i acknowledge it should or normally would be individual smartphone to each person, except, when there are kids or teenagers who may use their parent’s device without having their own. More and more kids do get their own it seems these days, but not all.
Please come up with a different way to prevent abuse besides device check, or if you continue to use device check, please create some logic or authentication/validation regarding shared devices

These were real friends. One even lives in another state. So... Whatever their patch was, it completely disabled the bonus.
I've never tried that cheat. Though it's obvious that it would be exploited. I don't need to. I get plenty of free stones and only read one book here.
