If you leave, nobody will remember you. If you're a reader, nobody will notice that you have left. If you're an original author and had dropped your novel, you will be forgotten in due time. Your novel will be stacked upon by the endless new original novels that are constantly being produced. Maybe someone will dig your novel out, but that's unlikely.
The only way to not be forgotten? COME BACK! NEVER EVER QUIT AGAIN!
