Awesome_Blossom Thanks! I basically set up the plot on the spot with the synopsis, and it ended up being darker than expected with a seemingly silly plot like this. It’s kinda fun writing with no premade plan. XD

I edited it using a free image and mainly changed the tree into a different one through brushes, overlays, and some minor drawing. The original was too scrawny to me, almost leafless. Then I slapped on a few layers of titles, effects, and such.

Chryiss Nice. Looks really well made. You probably can continue writing on it even after the contest since the synopsis does sound interesting.

Synopsis:

Seeing the cat on the ground, the master had a dark look on his face.

“What happened?” he bellowed in a voice that sent chills to the soldier and the servant. Knowing the master’s temper, the soldier quickly explained.

“This servant kicked the master’s cat.”

The master looked at the servant with a murderous look.

“Which foot?” Shaking in fear as the master looked at him with a murderous glance, the servant couldn’t say a word.

“Which foot?”

The master asked again, this time in a louder voice. The servant's knees betrayed him when he heard those words. He immediately went down on his knees.

“I’m sorry master, I will not do it again.” he pleaded earnestly, his hands grasping each other. “Master, have mercy on me.”

He eyed man begging at his feet with disdain. He walked past the man and inched closer to the slumped cat on the floor. He picked up the creature with extreme care, patting its head.

He took a quick look at the dejected man before looking at the soldier who eyed him nervously.

“A toe will do.”

The servant looked at the cat who appeared so haughty as if it is the master’s wife.

“Even the most beautiful maidens could not move the master’s heart. How could a cat make him act like a husband who is saving his wife?” he muttered under his breath.

Lording over its victory over the servant, the cat let out a smile revealing its fangs as if mocking the man.

‘Stupid servant. I may be a male cat, but I have a female spirit.’
