Trying to find a good book to read is really hard a lot of times. The search function requires you to either know the name of what you want to read or randomly search something. The browsing section is a bit better but the categories are still too broad and don't let you focus your search. For example if you want to read a xianxia you have to search through all the eastern fantasy or martial art novels. What if you want to read a novel with an overpowered system that almost half of the books seem to have, there isn't a way to include or exclude those books.
Most important the search function needs a way to filter books based on when they last updated. I get books that haven't updated in months mixed in with books that updated an hour ago. Trying to find a dungeon story that's updating now is almost impossible. Why would I want to read a book that the author or translator has thrown to the side. So I'm asking that webnovel make a more refined search filter and give the ability to filter books based on when they last updated.
Well if anyone has recommendations on some good novels let me know. Some of my current favorites are Seeking the Flying Sword Path, Spirit Immortal, and Genius Seventh Prince.

I recommend reading “Pet King”, It's about pets, Just like it's name says. It's not a cultivation-ish system novel but It's fun to read, Read the first 10 chapters and you'll understand. Although It's premium now, It's better than “Am I God?”, In my opinion, Of course. Although they both deal with pets, “Am I God?” deals with combat and action-related chapters, To the point that the MC is some sort of Overpowered now. “Pet King” primarily is a Slice of Life genré, which deals with values and good deeds, Suitable for 13 year old juvenile. They will learn how to behave and at the same time, reform their personality to side with good and with principle. “Am I God?” focuses on cats, rather than universal variety of pets. (Supercats are their superpower source, Of course.) “Pet King” is like a forest, Well, Most are cats though, But with a twist of a magical-ish pet shop. Shop Owner Zhang is good for his pets, Not for his own benefit, But for the animal's good (Pet King). Meanwhile, Mc of the opposite novel, Cares only for his own, Mostly treating pets like tools. “Pet King” doesn't have racist remarks (Japan, Korean. Yes, those remarks.) So I suggest reading “Pet King” and you'll be entertained. (I actually took a lenghty review? Shocking!)

BlueCastle I agree. It needs to include an advanced filter, where you can search by keywords and/or tags.

Right now, you need to have some idea of an author name or title. You can't really drill down to tags, keywords and such metadata. You have to rely on filtering via the categories for this.

It would also be helpful to have the search filter out what you don't want to see. (e.g exclude all books with word "drop" and status "hiatus") to narrow down the hits.

I agree, searching for new books to read is a pain with the current broad system in place. I wish they would let us search via the tags in an easier fashion than the current method (as far as I know the only method), which is to find a book with a tag you like then click that tag. I wish I could just pull up a list of current tags and click one. Even better if it tracked the number of books that shared that tag.
