If you ever come across a book that has a ton of SS requirements, I suggest you go to google, type in the novel name, the chapter you are on and watch it on one of the random sites. Webnovel usually asks more then 10x what the book itself would be worth in their spirit stones mechanic which is mental.
Read freebie non contracted stories you can find searching the categories and via Shameless self promotion posts on this site. A number of them are pretty good since some are written by native English writers. These won't touch your spirit stones.
