Brightness wont get low after opening the book even if I set up it on 'use system brightness' and my eyes starts to pain after 15 min of reading please do something about it

Why is night mode tied to dark mode? I have the problem where the main menu is dark as hell but the dark mode chapters are blinding as hell! Totally makes me not want to use this app in its current state.
My temporary workaround right now is using the invert colors function in my phone's system settings on day mode. Admittedly, it makes some of the covers look really cool (of course many also look terrible).
But nobody should have to work around an app. Fix the brightness, please. (I've noticed not using system brightness the minimum brightness is much brighter than I use my phone except in direct sunlight).

Same here. Exactly the same issue, the automatic setting isn't automatically set to the system brightness while it should. It's annoying me daily. Please fix
