We all put our SS free without getting anything from this privilege thing you have done fix this problem ASAP. Because our SS is being used unfairly by YOU and our privilege time is expiring then why have we purchased this shit!

If you're in the business of selling a product or service, you can never be too busy to serve your customers well. Just because they are also apparently too busy to respond to their contracted authors, and apparently some of these contracted authors (like you?) are so lenient and could just accept being treated like second class citizens, doesn't mean customers with complaints or questions should do the same too.

              If they have too many messages to respond to, then they should get more resources. Or better yet, strategize better and don't come up with some half-baked programs that would anger their customers.

And I do have some issues regarding the sites and how things are handled. Like I do think some features like their report button could be fixed and features utizled better. I'm just a reader like everybody else 🤷 the same as the rest of you.

                  Put yourselves in the shoes of these people. If you bought something at a store and for whatever reasons you are disatisfied with the product that you bought, so you came back to that store because you would like some explanations from their customer service, only to find out that you were being ignored by them and started to get frustrated yourself, and someone else just barged in to tell you "Oh, they're just too busy to respond to you. FYI, this is normal, they treat others the same way too, including myself, but hey I'm used to it, because that's just how things are, so you should get used to it too. Don't feel so disappointed or frustrated, because guess what? You're not that special".

I'm used to it, because back when I was writing complaining posts when I joined last year. I didn't get responses either. People are very toxic in comments section, do you know how many times I reported it? Got nothing as a response, and I waited long.

                    After experiencing something like that, I figured it would be best not to get hopes up for replies. Not everybody is satisfied with how things are on this site, but people do still read so I do understand where the concerns are coming from. I hope things get cleared up soon, and a proper explanation is provided too.

                      DaOist0015 You guys don't understand the Privilege. If you buy 5 advance chapters in one month and you will be reading up to the latest chapter lets say 100th (95th is latest for free) then when the month ends, you have to buy it again, but that doesnt mean you will read up to 105th. You will still be on 100th chapter as that's the latest. You pay to be 5 chapters ahead of everyone. Not to read 5 chapters more each month. When the privilege expires, you go down to 95th chapter and only if you renew the subscription, you can read up to 100th again.

                        This is how high sea sites get popular greed and you lose more then you win. The ones hurt are the authors and translators.

But just like what I already said in my post in another thread yesterday which was a response to your post (remember, the one in which you said that a certain user was just making a fuss and should have known what they're getting themselves into?), you should be more sensitive with what you write to these customers who are already frustrated enough with the situation and the lack of response from WN. You said you were just trying to provide an explanation on how the system works, fine, that's really nice of you, but there is a more diplomatic and thoughtful way to do it without having to sound like a bootlicker who makes excuses on behalf of WN. Coz' seriously, that's how your posts looked like.

                                  DaOist0015 I just want to ask. Say, in your case, the last chapter for X novel is 100. You purchased 50 chaps of privilege in July and got to 150.
                                  Now, in August you got set back to 100 and repurchased 50. Are you getting daily releases starting with 151 or are there no new chapters whatsoever being added to the pile and you're just stuck with what you already have?

                                      I lost 900 ss for purchasing privilege on 2 novels on this 2nd wave of privilege. I wrote them telling them that what they are doing is akin to us buying for the same product over and over again. That is not good business and authors would lose their readership because of this. I suggested that it would be more worthwhile to have the privilege chapters purchased be retained at the end of every month, then when readers purchase privileges they start from the chapters they left off. Example: purchased privilege for 35 chapters for 1st month with last chapter read at 135. On the 2nd month, purchase 5 privilege chapters, readers get chapters 136-140. NOT 101-105, as you’ve purchased those privileged chapters the previous month.
                                      Another question is, will the authors be able to commit to provide additional 50 chapters of stockpile a month to support this privilege scheme WN is having?

I don't think anybody has the 50 tier option and sticking with the low ones. Since unlike translation teams they are only one person.

                                        jlou1850 Paying for Privilege just means to remain X chapters ahead of the normal readers. So to maintain that X chapter lead, that's the amount to pay. There's no need to sign up for Privilege to still enjoy the same release rates.

And always buy ss each month regularly. I'm just so done with how they treat us nothing but a money tree. On top of that, to actually read these chapters I have to pay additional SS. Then after the month passes, I have to repurchases the chapters that i have already purchased TWICE once again??                                               An average chapter (at least for me) only cost about 3 to 6 SS. So what you’re trying to sell me, is essentially 5 chapter Titles for 400SS. At that price I could get at least get 65 chapters, content included, by patiently waiting !!! I’m all about supporting translators/authors but at least make it somewhat reasonable. Webnovel needs to drastically reconsider and reconstruct this whole privilege chapters concept.

But seriously, there has got to be a better system that will satisfy all parties - authors/translators get the monetary incentive that they need to write/translate faster, happy readers who don't have to break the bank and thus will keep coming back for more, and WN still getting a steady profit. At this rate, WN will get even more aggrieved customers, only a very small amount of people will purchase privilege, the authors/translators will not be getting the incentive that would encourage them to write/translate faster, for which the Privilege program was implemented in the first place. Then what's the point of the program?

I intend to patiently wait for chapters to be released. After all who would want to pay for the same product 3 times?

                                                    Previously, I was just stating the obvious. The way they’re running things is senseless. I’ve been on many sites that offer additional chapters for a price, yet have never seen a system as flawed as the one Webnovel is currently advertising.

They take the money and the system “fails” and people are having issues with obtaining their chapters they rightfully paid for. It’s BS. Is there not anything wrong with someone “upgrading” to buy privilege chapters on the last day of the month, then you lose it the day after because it has now expired? It’s bullsh*t. It’s robbery in daylight is what I call it.

It’s not about “don’t buy it if you don’t want it.” You’re trying to justify a fcked up system that doesn’t even work. There are other forums going right now because people are upset that they’re not even getting the chapters in which they have OVERPAID for. It is unethical and that is the whole point. It is an unethical business practice. People are overpaying for chapters, some aren’t even able to access theirs but they are prompted to pay for chapters they already paid for. At this point, it has passed the limit of “don’t buy it if you don’t want it.”
