While I agree that it should be possible to come up with a better model that would benefit both authors and readers without having to hurt WN's profit margin, but the rest of your post revealed a sense of self-entitlement which made you feel that you deserve to enjoy other people's work for free.
You stated that you would only pay for original contents that you really enjoy. Otherwise you would use as much as free SS as possible.
Does that work like that with other forms of entertainment too? Do you go to the cinema to watch a movie and say, meh, I don't really enjoy it, so I'm just gonna watch it for free? Or do you go to a bookstore to read a whole book first before deciding whether you like it enough to pay for it?
And it's unwise to advise readers to purchase SS because some are kids who still use their parents' money? So people shouldn't be selling toys aimed for kids anymore?
It's the parents' responsibility to say NO to their kid if the kid is asking them for money to spend here, or on anything at all.
