          Honestly? Ditch WebNovel and head over to RoyalRoad anyway. They're much more spread out in their genre of stories, but stuff is high-quality there. You can find all the genres you read here, only higher-up works. And absolutely no paywalls.

            A lot of the people here are talking about translated stories and web comics, which Royal Road does not have. Very few original stories here are locked behind paywalls. Only the writers of the top hundred stories in ranking receive a contract, I believe.

            And many Royal Road writers have Patreon, so if you plan on donating to the author, it makes no difference whether you pay by SS or by Patreon.

              Tomoyuki Patreon authors charge a straight fee of about a buck a month to stay a chapter ahead of RR. They don't make you pay for every chap like some WebNovel stories i've seen. They don't have Qidian's bullshit SS system, where you have to buy stones if you actually want to read the interesting stuff.

              As for webcomics, there are many other sites other than Qidian which have them.

                    You get to keep basically all of what you make on Patreon. SS you only get to keep a certain percentage, and that's only of paid SS, not free SS. Patreon is heads and shoulders better for a writer than SS.

                        Clowniac Not denying that, but pointing out that I Nimbus's point of paywall is moot if you're planning on donating to the author anyway. Obviously Patreon is a better platform, but that's a different reason from "you should read on Royal Road because they don't have paywalls."

                        Furthermore, as I said, very few stories here are locked behind paywalls, and very few original authors actually have contracts with Qidian. So I Nimbus's whole suggestion of running off to Royal Road makes no sense because the people who come here and pay with Spirit Stones do so to read translated works and webcomics that cannot be found on Royal Road, and not to read original works.

                            You guys should use Readwn.com it has alot of Webnovel stories but for free, it is missing things so don't expect some random story you found in the pits of Webnovel to be there, it also has Chinese and Korean novel, (they are translated but some of the less popular ones are mlt's tho) I honestly don't even know how they just yoink the chapters that are premium, they probably use the money they get from ads to unlock chapters using bots
