What is Webnovel's policy regarding authors who wish to post their story on multiple platforms such as Wattpad or Inkitt?
Writing Policy Question
They don't care, you're free to do as you like with your content as you wish. You own the copyright for your stuff even after publishing it on this site. I'm unsure what the terms are for contracted works, but IIRC you still own the copyright for it. Don't quote me on that part, though.
FattyBai Thank you!
If you're contracted, you have to post your advanced chapters (2-5 recent chapters) ahead on Webnovel first.
For example; say you are on Chapter 100 on WN.
You can only post up to Chapter 95 elsewhere.
Don't quote me on this, I'm pretty sure the numbers are different, but that's generally the case.
They don't care so long as you don't have a contract with them. If you do have a contract though it's a very different thing since IIRC they get total ownership of a work's copyright when you sign a contract with them so it's no longer really yours.
It depends on your contract.
An exclusive contract will lock you down into publishing only on Webnovel. You cannot publish any work related to the contracted work on any other platform or physical publishing. So if you plan on making a comic of your work, then tough luck.
A non-exclusive contract is a bit lenient. You can do whatever you want as long as the contracted work has 2 chapters in advance in Webnovel compared to other publishing platforms.
But for further clarification, do ask webnovel staff directly. You can reach them via email iirc.
