  • Already applied as English-speaking Editor; no response!

I got a notification for Webnovel translator/editor recruitment, but I applied to this job two months ago with no response! I get it if I didn't get the job, but they should say that, shouldn't they? That's more preferred than being left in the dark, seeing yourself in an imaginary worldwide waiting list!
Has anyone else had this issue? How long did it take to get a response?

Why would anyone sell their soul for 5$ a chapter? Unless of course you are doing it for learning the language ... but than you shouldn’t be an editor. While it’s understandable what Webnovel does here, what is happening is undercutting those that do this for a living. Just to put this into perspective 5$ get you maybe 200ss. That’s like 20 chapters on this platform. And maybe like 2-3 hours reading time. Editing chapters takes time so if your are good you can maybe do a chapter an 30 minutes to an hour on average depending on the chapters length. It’s probably not going to be great earnings. I suggest anyone considering the offer to have a good look at your contract and compare it to industry standards of your home country depending on your skills.
