I'm a fantasy writer here on webnovel looking to read stories in the following genres: High fantasy, contemporary fantasy, western fantasy, urban fantasy, and magical realism. Warfare stories are a plus.

I'm not looking to read eastern fantasy or stories with heavy game elements that are prolific here on Webnovel. I actually like those stories and follow several but my purpose now besides enjoying a good read is research. I want to understand the trends of fantasy novels on the platform and see if success is possible if the writing isn't strictly following the 'self-fulfillment' method that is recommended in the beginners manual.

So if you have any recommendations please do respond here. It'll help me a lot. Thanks.

I'm willing to write you a review--a genuine one and not the spam we usually get from people just looking to get more ratings--if I like what I read. :) I have written a few reviews now and I almost always make it a point to take time writing a proper one.

    Is magical realism to your liking?

    Asking because I set my story in typical medievalistic world (europeistic) with some loving touches added here and there. Basically a western world with a bit of magic. (Ancient timeline in the first chapter tho, just be advised)

      Provided you're fine with Science Fantasy (basically spaceships and fantasy), the fantasy part is very much molded after the 1990 style fantasy you bought in the old style. You know, paper and all that ;)

                I am writing a Western-Fantasy story that parodies a lot of the more annoying tropes on this site, most notably the harem and OP protag nonsense that dominates this place. It's roughly speaking a transmigration/isekai story, but in a Western style. If you know anything about anime, the closest Eastern equivalent would be if Konosuba took place in Goblin Slayer's universe.

                                          The writing at the beginning isn't that good, as it is my first time writing, but it begins to improve from Chapter 17 - Defeated onwards.
