        I don't really understand this whole thing as I have previously said too many translators still think they are freelance. They do what they want when they want remember the last time on Christmas when some translators went on vacay and didn't say?

        If people will seriously be paying for these chapters they need to be committed to consistency. Randomly changing release rate without informing anyone is just absurd. But hey this is what people choose to pay for. They chose to not worry about customer service and continue to throw money at QI for a broken business that does not seem to have your best interest at heart.

        At the end of the day there is no one to blame but sadly ourselves for not demanding more of the service when they first brought in spirit stone buying. That's just how I feel.....bound to happen at this rate.

          CKtalon For the last 10 days!? Why can't the translator say that at the end of the latest chapter? Is it that hard to write an extra line to inform us of wth is going on? Do you not inform your workplace when you are sick? Do you just go AWOL for a week and expect them to be fine with it?

            I am pretty sure it is the in the contract somewhere that if he goes MIA for more than 3? Days, he will have to inform QI, which he did not.

              Oxy Translators still think they are doing fan translation ffs... They lost the right to complain or give excuses when webnovel.com turned into a business. They are simply an employee now! That's the problem with some translators! They can't grasp the reality... If they were doing fan translations like in the past, they had all the right to give weeks of break as they like, but now they have no right to such a thing! They should change their mentality already. This is what they wanted and they defended qidian to implement the premium system, so they should also give up the rights they had as fan translators. No more giving long breaks, no more going awol when they feel like it, no more subpar quality translation! It's as simple as that! THIS IS WHAT THEY WANTED!

                @N0xiety I agree with you, but then again Im not too sure about the contracts translators sign with QI. Its international contracts too so there might be some difficulties.
                You'd atleast expect someone to "call in" sick at work if they are....

                I can accept him being sick, we all get sick. Sometimes even for months. But I would like atleast an OFFICIAL statement from Qidian or the translator himself that he is sick. Not 1 short almost non explaining comment from another translator... 'translator is sick' not even a 'sorry guys the TL is sick right now' just a 'translator is sick' I support qidian, but do not like the mentality that's i am seeing happening with Ultimate Scheming System, and hope for some improvement in this.

                If he continues this in March, Qidian will consider switching translators. Translators are human after all, so it's understandable things crop up. Some leeway is given to translators on this aspect.

                Also, translators aren't paid a monthly wage, but paid by chapter. So by not translating any chapters, he is only affecting his own salary and also jeopardizes his authorization to translate the novel.

                  CKtalon Sure, translators are human, but that still is no excuse for not informing us for weeks... No one would make a scene if the translator would just give us a reason for his absence. I would even be ok if he is a university student and has to study for his exams or something...

                  Also, to prevent things like this from happening, i think Qidian should implement a buffer rule. For example it could be a rule for translators to keep atleast 2 weeks worth of chapters in buffer. The chapters can be released automatically from the buffer. So even if translator were to become really sick or goes to a vacation or has to study for exams, the release won't stop. Normally this should be common sense, but some translators just translate day to day for some reason. The moment something unexpected comes up the chapter release stops because of this...

                      N0xiety All translators have a buffer before the books get released. But over time, they start failing to keep up with the release rate.

                          CKtalon That kind of means that the release rate they chose is above their ability... When that happens, they should just write a message at the end of the latest chapter explaining why they need to decrease the release rate to keep consistency in the future, people will understand.

                          Also some translators start the novels with insane release rates to attract more readers while relying on their buffers, but then are forced to decrease it once they run out of the buffer and start day to day translation. It's just bad planning on their part...

                              CKtalon well sir, you know he is sick. Why qidian wont announce it? Or put hiatus notice so we know he is sick and we pray for him. Not with silence treatment like this, him and qidian.

                                  AuxiliralyMAx Companies typically do not announce to the world that their contractors are sick or stuff like that. They also do not wish to add it in the Translator's Thoughts on behalf of the translator. And clearly, the translator doesn't care.

                                  Anyway, the translator will be switched also.
