Ask for power stones? As in vote trading?

Curious to know how'll that help a writer know if they're writing something good that another wants to read.

Isn't voting because you like the story or effort applied to it?

If your trading votes like currency, I can't see how that would help a writer know their story is genuinely liked. Kind of feels like an empty vote. Personally, I wouldn't see value with this type of vote.

If it works for some, well okay.

The reviews are helpful if they are meaningful (e.g story overviews). Otherwise it's nothing more that signing "I'm here" to a person's book. Not necessarily a bad thing I guess.

      Veronica8 Power Stones determine rankings not the reviews. You will see many writers having great reviews but have no readers because they are not trending. Besides, for Writing Contests, the Power Stones are counted not reviews. Famous writers can get a lot of votes but for newbies like us, we need to ask people directly for stones. You can call it 'begging' but what else can we do? The forum is the only place where we can ask for stones. And about story quality. I can assure you, that doesnt matter if the story isn't on a trending list. I've learnt it the hard way. Many good stories get lost in the crowd simply because the books don't get featured.

          Tea_Tae unfortunately it's true. Not saying what I write is perfect, but I usually dislike most of the trending novels on quality of both plot and writing. It's a mystery to me how they gather so many readers. But, since I am not a star here, I probably have bad taste and a bad understanding of the storytelling basics.

                      SrtaA that's coz they have a first movers advantage. Plus, most readers prefer romance and rich ML/flimsy FL. Readers are changing now but the old novels trend due to the high votes they receive everyday. That's how it is. You can write the best story out there and you'll still have to beg for stones.                                                   I read the post as if it was trading votes like money. Example of this. "I'll give feedback to your chapter if you give me 3 power stone votes. Or vote for me and I'll vote for you." Kind of thing. This wouldn't be fair voting and goes against the purpose and intention of power stone votes.

                                                  However, if you ask "please vote for my story" without any other ask next to it. That's all okay :wink:
                                                  As a person chooses to vote, because they:
                                                  1 - visited the story
                                                  2 - liked it enough to cast a vote

                                                      Veronica8 as I said. Those things don't work. Reviewers will give reviews and leave. They won't read because most of them have their own books to work on. Power Stones are the only way to get legit readers by making your book trend on lists. You either have to ask for them or trade them. Novels with great reviews are sitting in a corner of webnovel because they don't have power stones. Hence, writers trade power stones to bring attention to their novel. It's a cutthroat competition. If writers can use alternate accounts to vote for themselves, then this is much better 🤷‍♀️ It's quite normal among writers to trade votes.
