Hello again. I now have another question. What would you instead choose, a rebirth where the MC goes back in time after he dies, or when an MC transmigrates to another dimension, and if so, is it on Earth or another magical place? I am still on the creating phase of the story and am finishing on the prologue
Rebirth or Transmigration??
Depends on what you want to write...
Going back in time is considered a 'soft reset.' The protagonist just replays his life but since he knows everything that happens it's considered a cheat. The protagonist would have to be smart enough to know that after a while his past knowledge won't be useful anymore. No magic allowed either.
Going to another dimension is considered a 'hard reset.' The protagonist is thrown somewhere else, and either gets lucky, or is strong enough to not die in half a day. Again, the protagonist would have to be smart/strong, or both in order to survive. Since you have magic here, you can do whatever.
Transmigration.
Rebirth MC is often way more overpowered than transmigration ones since it's more like finishing the game as a newbie and then playing it again as a pro but having read all game guides you could find.
Unlike Transmigration, although MC is still sometimes overpowered but it is a new dimension after all, so there's room for exploration.
Well, situation above is still base on the what the author writes and how I'm tired of OP main chars lol.
And magical setting is always a go for.
Why not both?
My story's mc transmigrated. Meanwhile, the original's (the body that hosts mc's soul) sister experienced rebirth
burntpotato What about a newbie MC rebirths but this time there would be a power-up except that he still does not know how to reach the highest stage
