  • Fast Pass.. Bad alternative & here’s why

you can still get coins if you invite friends, and through reading, you can still get 10 coins per checkpoint. other than that, you can read 3 chapters a day with only fast passes, or buy more coins if you have to. or, surprise surprise! there's something called farming & free novels.

      yaoyueyi if you hit learn more on coins it says "Coins bonus are gained through various missions and events. (E.g. Check-in, vote, invite friends.) so far that clearly isnt the case and i think thats the biggest issue. Dont say its possible to get when it isnt through these methods

      As for farming you need 10k minimum for free novels. all the lower rewards are just 50-70% off and those dont help what so ever with passes. thats a lot of time spent farming for a few free days of reading

          ampplaca it's probably just a bug on webnovel's behalf. I don't see the need to get all angry about it. how many typos/errors/grammar mistakes can you find throughout their site? probably 2 million. they probably just wrote that for when they first introduced coins and not fast passes, but forgot to change it when they implemented fast passes. I don't think it's that big of an issue as long as you can read the rewards for the daily missions, where it clearly says what you can earn coins for and what you cannot.

          again, there are so many free novels on this site. I don't see why it's such a bad thing to step away from the contracted/translated novels for a few days to read some of the free novels that are probably pretty good as well, and get some farming in the meantime. it's not like when you're farming, you're suffering b/c you're reading a novel you don't want to read (and if you are, that's kind of your fault). plus, for even some translated/contracted novels, farming is an option as well (if you're under the belief that only contracted novels can have any quality)

              Aqura isn't one chapter 10 coins? At least that's how much I pay for Ominiscent Reader. The Fast Pass is given up to 3 x times a day for mission stuff we tend to do. I've been able to unlock 3 x paid chapters so far.

                yaoyueyi the problem is they have continuously taken away how much a free reader can read. i am currently reading 4 novels and it was possible to do so before they recently changed how many we got. the fast pass has made it worse and now i can only read 2 of the 4 novels. im not really angry over the coins thing and was just pointing something out but am over the new horrible system. also when they introduced fast pass a week ago they literally said use fast pass on chapters that cost more and coins on cheaper ones. not that they are getting rid of ways to make coins

                as for free novels i never said anything about the quality of them. i was saying you need 5000 ads for 10k points to get the 3 day free novels reward and thats a lot of farming for that

                      What's up with the new update?
                      No SS or coins. After doing all the activities and the weekly bonus I got 4 fast passes.
                      They unlock 1 chapter each.
                      Which is dumb because when i was getting 20 coins a day (which was a sudden downgrade from 35-40 SS a day), with the site wife discount I'm etting yi was able to unlock 5-10 chapters a day!
                      Thankfully I had some older coins left over!

                      Alright, this will generate hate, but here goes. What webnovel did is actually genius marketing and strategy. You guys are mistaken by 1 very important thing. Webnovel is a business, business needs income. You reading for free, gives them nothing really. Sure they had those video ads (or still have, I don't know, don't use the app), but those ads must've generated very little income for them, hence they changed it.

                      So what they did instead? They made coins available to paid member only (pretty much, small exception here and there but in overall exclusivity). It's a bold move, but a move that brings them more income I suppose. You can still read for free (the contracted or paid novels), but at a slower rate. Therefore you get stuff for free, but you can't expect for them to give you everything for free. Let me put it like this. If you go to a bookstore, you can't expect the guy or gal behind the counter, to just give you books they sell. You have to pay for them.

                      So, the whole "Webnovel screw us over the SS" is basically pointless. They could take away everything, and you'd have shit to say. Because paid means paid. How they charge, is a different story. I can tell you right now that novels here are very expensive, the more chapters they have. A 1000 chapter novel, is about twice as expensive compared to the complete books (in equivalent size to the 1000 ch novel) bought on amazon for example. I even know the reason but I digress.

                      There is another point I will make. Read the free novels. There are novels that are free, and in many cases better than contracted novels. I'll give you an example. Chrysalis is a free novel, and it's not contracted. You can read everything the author wrote for free. The novel is also popular. There are good not contracted novels, because such authors prefer their creative and financial freedom, ability to go multiplatform or open their patreon (etc). Read those stories and support those authors, you don't need fast passes, coins or anything really. Or just stick with whatever contracted stuff you read, and do it at a slow pace. You can also pay ultimately. I solved it for you guys? Or any other doubts?
