I'm done with you fools. For the second time I can't finish reading a novel because the last 20 or so chapters have been put behind a paywall. I can only hope this whole greedy business goes belly up and translators go back to working for themselves. It's not the fact Qidan wants to make money that bothers me it's the way they go about it. I will never pay to read 3rd rate incomplete Chinese novels and frankly that's what most of these 1500+ chapter novels are.... They can't compare in any way shape or form to Tolkien, Jacques, Sanderson, Jordan so many great "legitimate" authors. Chinese novels in general that are updated daily, barely proofread, and filled to the max with fluff and nonsense for the sake of word count are just pure garbage in comparison. The only plus side which has attracted so many of us is simply "quantity" of reading material and "availability" both of which are now greatly lacking. Everything worth reading will shortly be behind a paywall and the release frequency is "at best" 1 chapter per day meaning a minimum 3-5 year wait for those 1500+ chapter novels.... so yea all you folks at Webnovel go find something long and pointy and shove it where the sun don't shine.
Boycotting Webnovel
Novo Hey, look! No one care!

I am genuinely willing to understand why you would want to read 3rd rate, incomplete novels as you have put it in the first place even if they are free.
I believe there exists a bunch of quality stuff, in and out of Webnovel. I think you should go for the stories that do not infuriate you and disturb your peace of mind rather than the ones you are mentioning about here.
Cheers.

Yes, they write classics in a different way - Ursula Le Guin, Romain Rolland with his “Cola Brunion”, Mark Twain, O'Gery ... the same Tolkien or Kipling, Heinrich Sinkevich “Flood”, “Pan Kmitsits” but. .. these are books, go and buy them, read, keep them in the library.
WebNovel has its classics such as IRAS! There are 5-6 novels of very good IMHO.
I see no obstacles to reading class 2 or 3 novels, if people want it is their choice. Want to read cool stuff, pay, buy e-books, and read , what's the problem?
Or just don't read Chinese novels? Translated works are almost certain to be put behind a paywall.
There's plenty of English originals that don't suffer that fate. So why do people read crap just because there's a lot of it? I'll stay away from the 1-star buffets, thank you.

Just on the side note, there are a lot of classic ebooks on Webnovel that are free to read. Talking about Tolkien? Read classic stuff.
Why care about chinise translations then? They are pure entertainment, so, obviously, you will have to pay.
If you want some edutainment, read classic.

ek123 Do not quite understand what is at stake? But Webnovel is a different level of books. For example, I read Murakami a classic, it’s a bestseller, but I don’t like all his works. I like 5 more novels on web novels, they are written very well. But IRAS was the most interesting thing for me on Webnovel! It is even better than Murakami IMHO!
