I have like 800 or so views but only 11 valid reads (said 80% valid reads) with 9 collections. Im posting my novel on Wattpad at the same time and views r very slow the cause novel is still new. R valid reads the real views? As it would make more sense for me not to get hundreds of views in just 2-4 days. The collection rate would make more sense too. So is views just when it loads your novel onto a list? or like when people click on the novel to read synopsis and stuff? or am I just overthinking things.

    Not an author, but afaik:

    Views: readers click in your novel (that Read button), see first line of your story. They may or may not be interested, and may leave your novel. If the same reader clicks on the read button 5 times, it counts as 5 views.
    Valid reads: readers read ≥ 60 seconds.

    Maybe real authors can clarify.

        Cantiara I remember hearing some time back that simply viewing the book page, not even clicking read or inside an actual chapter, counts as a view. So a lot of the views are literally just people ‘viewing’ your novel. I don’t recall if this was officially confirmed, but it surely would make a lot of sense as I doubt that even bots/scrapers could accumulate so many views.

          Hey Can anybody tell me how the valid reads are counted?
          I am a new one in this platform and have only posted 1 chapter till the day and I have 1.4K views but the valid reads are still 0. Here, I don’t understand what it takes to count a read as a valid ones😩

            I think in we novel their readers are fake, imagine you post a chapter and you get 378 readers no review no comment you just get readers immediately am writing in wattpad and their are slow it will at least convince a friend of mine started writing story in wattpad she was complaining she wasn't having enough readers then she posted a chapter in webnovel and immediately she got 375 readers immediately
            So all am saying its Fake oo
