So I currently have a novel that has taken off really well, I'm thinking of doing more chapters however I want the readers/ other authors to help me with advise.
Do I carry the chapters on how they are or do I do a twist?
Thank you :)
New chapter
Well if you want the people who are reading it to give their thoughts. You could try adding an author's note on your next chapter as a call to action.
As for my opinion, I think that you should check to see how you plan to take whatever story you have. To where you want it to go. A twist for the sake of one might contradict previous points, but keeping it regular might bore some readers. I don't know what your story is about, so that'll just be something you have to think about on your own.
bigbear51 thank you for your help,I believe I'm going to keep it kn the level that it's at but add more interesting details like in the novel their letters that's been passed by two oen pals so I'm going to add the letters in and make the story as interesting as possible making sure readers a re satisfied:) but thank you again its helpful :)
Spacekitty26 I'm glad it was helpful for you. If you don't mind, could you share a link to what story you're talking about? If's it's romance, I'd be pretty interested in checking it out. Plus I would give some more feedback if I knew what type of content this is.
bigbear51 yeah sure thank you :)
Spacekitty26 Read and reviewed.
Spacekitty26 generally an outline will give you that answer. If you're still just experimenting and not following to an outline, go with gut feeling. If you're interested to follow a set storyline and story rules, outlining is ideal.
Hello,
This is quite a long time since I have been on webnovel, may I say thank you for your feedback and comments, I was 17 at the time and i am dyslexic over the years I have worked on and improved,so hopefully with a planned out structure and story line I will be able to produce something good, fingers crossed x
Spacekitty26 All the best to you.
Spacekitty26 The only advice I can give you is to prepare yourself.
This is something I say to any author without a great deal of experience, but by publishing your work publicly, you are placing yourself in a position that is very vulnerable to criticism. I think this is something just about everyone goes through at first, so it's not all that uncommon.
There are going to be people who dislike your work and will publicly state that, some more harsh than the others. There is nothing wrong with someone complaining about something they don't like, but it can indeed hit close to home.
Don't be discouraged by this kind of response. If you enjoy writing, simply focus on that, even if you have to turn away from reading reviews and/or comments, which is very hard.
Just think of it like this: No matter how good your writing is, there will always be people who will dislike it, while no matter how bad it is, there will always still be people who like it.
Wolfick thank you
