I started writing my first Webnovel a few days ago. It's already got hundreds of views, quite a few collection adds and chapter comments!

I do have some questions, though.

How do I know if views and comments are legitimate? Could they be from bots trying to farm resources? I'm new to the site, so I don't know if that's really a thing that can happen.

Also, as avid posters and readers, how long do you think the average chapter and volume of an original story should be?

      Regnov have you found like a crazy amount of viewers or commenters or is it a different story for you?

          MattHarris I saw in the 'Wite a novel' section that WN gives first time authors some sort of publicity. While they don't plaster your novel in the front page, they make it so that people could find your novel easier. With all that said, the influx of your viewers and commenters is probably normal.

              MattHarris I have nearly 30k views now but the comments and reviews are weird literally no one genuinely writes a review until you swap reviews with other authors, and the comments are weirdly concentrated at some chapters only, not evened out across all the chaps.

                  Regnov Ask your readers to give you a review in the Author's Thought section. Write something like,

                  Hi all,

                  I hope you are liking my book and will keep reading and supporting me. By the way, you can support me by posting comments, sending Power Stones, and giving a review.

                  Thanks,

                  Regnov, your favorite author.

                  OR

                  If you are like me, just write,

                  Bruh, give reviews, send stones, and post comments. WTF?!

                      MattHarris I would recommend you to edit your post and remove the name of your book from it as this can be considered a post in the sane vein of partial self-promotion which can incur a warning.
