I was just reading The Lecherous Cultivation System and author dropped some chapters and said webnovel was going to get rid of r18 stuff so he wasn't going to waste his time trying to write a story only for it to be taken down.

I completly understand him and he is right but the issue is wtf. Why so suddenly, doesn't webnovel has like many many r18 stuff, ESPECIALLY fanfiction. Their fanfiction is %80 harem wishfulling r18 stuff. They can't possiblly do that can they
Please tell me this is a joke.

If they do that they should get rid of everything that has R-18 content, including their novels. FL novels will be basically excluded, as there are scenes of lingerie and provocations in the R-18 environment. And on top of that it will take a grand part of the range of writers and readers, probably grand part will migrate to the RoyalRoad.

And if they want to remove these contents, why not remove their novels, which have constant rapes from the FL's, that the purpose already has a community that highly criticizes this type of content. If we went because it was improper, I believe that novels with rape on the webnovel are much worse than CONSENSUAL novels that are R-18.

lynerparel Let's face it, the difference between what will happen if you remove them or not by hiring them will be minimal. Do you think that the authors, especially those who aim at hundreds of chapters, will still write knowing that they do not have the hope of a contract?
It is the same as saying: Before you worked for me with minimal hopes, now you will work without any.

    lynerparel
I only feel bad for the authors. Some of them reached more than 100 chapters and they could be hired soon, due to the amount of power stones they were receiving. Now basically they are not going to have the same focus and desire to write as before.

SlothRuler Not really sure about the specifics, so even my information might be flawed. It's better to ask an editor or a staff member or something regarding this situation. I just relayed my understanding of what was told to me. :)

lynerparel But the question is what they will consider. For we probably have genocide, rape, ethnocide, brutality, psychopaths, international racism, mainly Japanese, in most of the translated content. They're basically saying: I can do bad things, but you can't.

          lynerparel

If they remove this content, then I agree with the contractual restriction. But being partial to the company's headquarters, qidian, and criticizing the originals is too much.

lynerparel It must be remembered that they made WebNovel to enter western lands. If they put so many restrictions on writers who are used to greater freedom of expression, how did they spread a wider audience?

lynerparel Most of the time it doesn't work. There are valid complaints about their original content that is inappropriate and several other problems, but they simply give the reader another face.

Not true. Webnovel is moving away from contracting R18 works that focuses purely on the R18 aspects. If the R18 content is not the focal point of the story, Webnovel will still contract it. This is because Webnovel is starting to advertise books outside of Webnovel and we are unable to advertise R18 books as the content could get our IP banned.

We will NOT remove books with R18 content on our site unless it contains controversial content like underage sexual intercourse or of a political nature. So writers of wholesome R18 content can rest assured that no actions will be taken against your books of culture.

Lecherous Cultivation System had asked for a contract for the book from us a few days before, but was informed that because the book contained mainly R18 content, we are unable to contract it. We have already explained the reasoning to the author but it seems that the author was not able to understand that we will only refuse to contract the book, not remove it entirely.

Thank you for explaining. That makes a lot of sense now. I’m looking forward to seeing where will ‘outside’ of WN it will be advertised. I’m really curious

well that author had made humongous of views i’m sure he can still be successful in a patreon or something..? I mean 1.7m views in just 100 chapters. Dam. R18 novels make it big here it seems

Thanks for the clarification. But I would like to ask you to clarify the future updates of the webnovel in the forum, since most came here through comments from the author, so further clarification would be more appropriate for both readers and content creators.

It's always r18 content. Finally you find something worth reading, censorship comes in your way. 😑

JJeditor So long story short, as long as the story main focus is not really r18, it can still work? With little bits of r18 here and there? That's what you mean?

SlothRuler You came up, stirred the discussion basing on lacking information and now demand the WN to explain their business decision here? What for? Since when do you have the right to demand them to tell you what they want and don't want to do? It's not like anything is changed for the readers.

Also, your nick is a lie. You ain't my ruler.

MotivatedSloth Since when do you have the right to demand them to tell you what they want and don't want to do?

                      It's called entitlement.

MotivatedSloth So the SlothRuler stirred the discussion based on lacking information and now we have a MotivatedSloth that wants to stir up a discussion based on misinformation. Is this some sort of sloth culture thing?)

While ’demand’ can be considered synonymous to ’ask’(The term that SlothRuler actually used), but the same could be said for ’request’, ’beseech’ and even ’beg.

The dude merely implored webnovel to notify it’s costumers about
changes that might affect their user experience while using this platform. Meanwhile, you came along and went to great length to present his words From a negative perspectivon.

P.S. God, I hate this forum’s interface. The text box was jumping all over the screen while I was typing this up and now I’m dizzy af.)

I am not a native English speaker, so I use translator, the misinterpretation of some words must be due to this factor.

                            Tomoyuki is there a catch?

Tomoyuki Ooff, you're right. I don't why people love that novel that heavily focuses on r18 with badly written paragraphs(Not the grammar, but how he construct every paragraph). I guess the majority of the people here is a man of culture 🤣
