  • Question about the spirity award

How much time is left until the Spirity Awards end? Do you think if I join I would have enough time?

4 months (it ends in October), and yes, you have enough time to write the 120,000 words you need to be legible for the prizes (if that's what you're joining for).

Tomoyuki No I am joining for an opportunity to show what I have. I don't really care about money. Thank you so much for the answer btw!

Mrs_Taxi Oh, if that's not what you're joining for, then you definitely have plenty of time. I think you can even join in the last month (September, for example), and if your idea is great, as long as you have at least 20,000 words, you'll be offered a contract. If you accept that, you'll get a lot of features and will have more opportunities to show what you have.

        Good luck!

Tomoyuki when you said that a novel needs to have 120,000 wordcount to be eligible for the prizes... Does it also mean that even if your novel doesn't enter the 200 power ranking, you are still eligible? Or powerstones/collections will still play a great role here?

Poisonlily The contest doesn't take into account power rankings, power stones or collections. Apparently they are more interested in the commercial value of your work and the regularity of updates rather than power stones or collections. Obviously votes, rankings and collections are great indicator of the commercial value anyway, but that shouldn't be the priority.

The 120,000 words requirement is taken straight from the rules of Spirity Awards. Rule 4: thus only novels that have more than 20,000 words will be eligible for the contacts; only novels that have 120,000 words will be eligible for the final awards.

As an aside, read Rule 2: The winning works will be determined by the commercial value of the work, the regularity of the work's releases, and the author's activity and close ties with their readers. So maybe power stones, rankings and collections count? Or perhaps they are more interested in seeing how you respond to reader comments?

I really hope so 😅 I have published 39 chapters for my spirity novel and my collections growth is a bit slow. If they judge by that or votes, then it's difficult to get contract. 😩 Though my readers until now are loving the story.
