Are there any guidelines for doing review swaps? Also, when reviewing a book with a large amount of chapters- read the whole book or a set amount of chapters to do the review?
Guidelines forReview Swaps
texascann i've been to many swap reviews and basically i do only generic reviews. like "I love this novel! Thank you for writing this, Author! More chapters please! _" and spam it a couple of times. but i've meet some authors who wants me to read at least 5 chapters of their book and they'll do the same thing also. so the decision totally depends on you, i think. as long as you don't give less than 4 stars in your rating to the swap. i personally only give a perfect 5 stars because i'm an author myself and i love authors like me. hehehe. glhf writing! hope this helps! Cheers!

I believe in doing actual reviews each time. Usually, you can read 5-10 chapters and come up with solid opinions/advise about a story if you have any reading-comprehension skills. That being said, people around here seem to like the “cool story! Five stars! I loved that you used words!” Approach. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on this though.
Obviously, you can do whatever you want. Don’t ever do a review swap with me though. I’ll both be annoyed with your feedback and give a review you aren’t prepared for. Perhaps telling someone that you plan to just slap a cursory five star on their story, and that you expect the same in return, would avoid some frustration.
