So I am publishing my novel on both of the websites here I have 1.6k views (it has 8 chapters right now) but on wattpad it's just 6 views and I can't find my novel by using search bar, I asked wattpad about this issue and they said it would take 3 days after publishing your novel before you can find it on search.

so I was wondering what you guys think is better platform to publish?

Also I just joined, it would be awesome if I can find some friends

In terms of current readership, I'd think WN is better since it's somehow still growing. Especially if your genres are what WN wants, then you can expect some clicks on here. Wattpad I feel like, has stagnated somewhat. I also have a complete novel there and its not getting any clicks despite it being over month old and being complete.

No formatting options here though, so pick your poison. 🙂

In terms of views and interaction, I think Web Novel is quicker and less competitive.

The centralized target demographic for Wattpad is "young girls" in the Western world , I'm talking early teens.
So in that, my opinion of Wattpad is more bias (cringe). I see it was a place where it's most 13-15 year olds OR middle aged housewives with their 50 shades of grey.

WN is full of cringe too, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's superior. But it's a more broad and genre tagged, even if the main focus is on Asian translation novels, which includes some cliche tropes. The age and demographic vary much more wildly bc the focus is on "those who like asian style web novels".
I feel like if you have more variety, then WN.

Both sites have their pros and cons.
I've been on Wattpad for a LONG time. There is a lot of high quality work there, they have a lot of pretty decent infrastructure and ways to interact with fellow writers. Private messaging on Wattpad is a big pro, in my opinion. I really prefer being able to talk to someone one-on-one to arrange reading trades and critiques and such. There are also more ways interact with fans and drive them toward my pages on Ko-Fi, Patreon, Amazon, etc.
I also like that I can customize the text in my story and add art and music to chapters.

Some of the tricks to get attention on Wattpad is to do read for reads, join critique/read exchange groups, and to find the community profile for your genre and submit your work to their reading lists. My short story collections get readers filtered to them by being in the library at the short story profile.

Here's a list of their community profiles: https://www.wattpad.com/480647104-community-news-updates-profile-directory-explore

WebNovel is appealing because it is easier to get attention. My work is getting a lot more attention here, but I feel the experience is lacking in many ways. Here, if I want to establish a better relationship with another writer I have to direct them to my discord account. They can't just click on my name and contact me privately. I also can't link to my blog or website or Ko-fi or Wattpad. :/

I also really don't like the fact that non-signed writers can't use italics or other basic customizations in the text of their novel. I considered signing through EMP, but I just wasn't comfortable with the contract. There's a few red flags in there that made me decide this site is just an alternative to Wattpad with readership potential.
I've been pretty active here, and the people have been very nice and receptive. I like the transparency that Webnovel has had about their contracts and the potential for writers to earn money, though I do worry that some folks might end up feeling exploited.

I also feel Webnovel is a lot like Wattpad when I first joined, so the community feels more tight knit and small, yet I do see the potential for many of the growing pains and issues that Wattpad experienced.

(not that you asked, but) Webnovel is definitely better than Dreame. They pay signed writers less, getting signed is more difficult, and there was no community to speak of.

I am still checking out Royal Road, or else I'd consider suggesting it as an alternative. :)

I like both. Both are the same for me. I can't say one is better than the other tbh. Relatively, both have them same result for me and receive the same respect.

There's also Tapread.com that I post to mostly. It's a far smaller site and catalog. Suitable for my niche stuff. I just like its simplicity.

Veronica8 Tapread? When I was that early, the translation of that site is eyesbleeding even for mtl-readers.

          a year later

Just my opinion, I don't have a lot of evidence, but I feel like Wattpad is better.

I too have written two books on wattpad and I think WN Is quicker , WN is best .

            2 years later

@"Black_Cat_Prince" can we upload same novel on both websites , or does its against any of the rules of contract of webnovel or wattpad
