I don't understand why I have to buy privilege for a month, pay to read those chapters and yet by the next month having to pay for privilege over chapters I had already open up so that I can continue reading new chapters.
Why won't my new months privilege start from my last opened up chapters?
To me it looks like paying multiple times for the same thing. Clearly a rip off (That's how I see the current system).
Privilege Chapters
Patrick_Emeka Wait. I don't get it. Are you saying that when you renew your privilege, the chapter you had unlocked under privilege, becomes locked again? And you have to pay to get it unlocked?
ie, for eg, At the end of the month, the chapters are:
Without privilege: Ch.100
With privilege: Ch.110
You renew, and Ch.110 is locked?
PsyberRose Let's say you paid and unlocked 18 chapters and had read up to Chapter 110 at the end of last month,
when the new month starts, it officially takes you back 18 chapters (110 -18) to chapter 92 (Although it leaves the already opened chapters accessable to you).
The issue here is you can't gain access to any new chapters ( eg. Chapter 111) for the next number of days it takes to cover 18 chapters except you buy another privilege package to open the full 18 chapters (Chapters 93-110, which you had already opened) so that you can now see the current new chapter update of Chapter 111.
I hope you understand what I'm trying to explain?
If you don't buy a new privilege to cover those 18 chapters but maybe bought one in the new month which covers only 12 chapters, what you get is a back track from Chapter 110 to Chapter 104 (You can access those chapters 105-110 but it makes them in red) and that new chapter 111 (and beyond) which should be what you were to gain access to, would wait the next the remaining 6 days ( taking you per day through the chapters 105 to 110, completing those 6 remaining chapters) before you you can see the Chapter 111 and beyond.
Patrick_Emeka Yeah, I get it.
Makes sense to me, though.
The privilege only gives you the right to advance chapters but you must continue to pay to see them. For me, as long as the chapters I have unlocked under privilege, remains unlocked when it becomes accessible to the public, it is fine.
However, if I paid and unlocked 18 chapters and continued in the 2nd month, but they take me back 18 chapters and count again from there ie Ch.92, THEN I would be pissed.
Danii The thing with privledge is that you are effectively paying $X/month (cost of privlesge *$0.02/coin) to read up to Y chapters ahead. At the end of the month, you are now Y chapters behind unless you renew.
Thry tells you as muvh in the info box, though they dont do it in a straightforward way, and it can be a bit confusing, but they did technically tell you.
Mostly this is something good to do if you want to support the translator and can afford to do so. Otherwise it is way more cost effective to not use it beyond the 1 coin for 2 chaps, though even that will prevent you from using fast passes (which by the way, the translators make no money from fast passes).
Patrick_Emeka yes, privilege is by default, readers able to read advance chapters from the releases. So, the system has been set up this way. Once you buy privilege, you would have to renew it every month. or, wait until the chapters you have read becomes available for the regular releases.
Privilege is a way for readers to support the authors/translators. this is why the cost of privilege is decided by the respective individual and not Webnovel.
Also, reading your above messages, it seems you already have a sound grasp fo the privilege system. So, to answer your question, this is like the system used in Patreon. The tier, the amount, the advance chapters, etc. The only difference is that you would also have to buy the chapters after buying privilege.
