Just watched ready player one it made me want to read again a certain novel but I don't recall the name.
A guy is reincarnated into his past self he has a little sister and moment he is in past he sells everything to raise funds for when they leave earth
The earth will come to an end so certain people created space ships to send inhabitants of earth to another planet in chrio sleep. But as a test to decide who will be best suited to rule once they arrive they created a virtual reality world, where everyone lives and develops starting with nothing.
