I want to know if there a place where you can find ALL of type of weapon.
whether its fictional or real one.
What I want is not the name of weapon, but their type or whats the weapon is called.
for example on anime we see the MC use weapon, and its has the name. but that not what i searching for.
example: doesn't matter what name the weapon MC is had and the weapon type is sword.

that type is the one that i needed.
sword, blade, saber and spear or anything.

Anyone know site or where I can get that kind of information.

It because i want use the weapon from an anime that i watched from long time ago, but i didnt know what type of weapon that is, or what the weapon is called.

    Like an arsenal or armory?

    If it's Japanese sword weapons, the ones I know:

    Katana = long swords that Samurai would use.
    Tanto = concealed dagger that would be used for ritualistic means.
    Koto blades = old swords used in early Japanese periods.

    Wiki has a one pager on sword types.
    Onepiece manga has also a sword definition cheat sheet.

    If you're after more curved blades. Scimitars are the Arabic types seen in Sinbad type stories.

            Phantomfiend for most media, it's hard to exactly describe what kind of swords it is as it's usually based on fantasy. Just looking at it, I'd say it's a scimitar however most have thin blades. A curved falchion might be accurate, can't tell. Here's a link to a few historical swords and, just from looking at them, I guess it's more like a thick grosse messer?

                Drakonous yeah, I didn't mean to describe it exactly like what I imagine it. Just write some info that make the reader can imagine what I write is the same with my thought.
                but, after asking around. my friend that like playing rpg games, say scimitar is close. then I end up pick 'Short Thick Scimitar' weapon as the one that i wanted to describe. of course there will be more detail a little bit added later on.

                    Phantomfiend Ah, if you're opening it from the computer then it might do that cause I used the Google search app to pull up those images.
                    As for description, I don't think you even need to say it's a scimitar. Like I'd write, "He pulled out a double edged sword from his back. The broad blade curved much like a scimitar or a falchion ..."
                    In this way, you won't have to classify your sword in a manner so that gives you more freedom when writing. You can also put a footnote at the end of the chapter with a link to an image that's similar to the sword you envision for your readers benefit.

                        I try at discord server for webnovel general channel, there is no weapon information resource can be found to use for newbie like me.
