You can try Superstars of Tomorrow. In my opinion, it has good characters building and logical flow.
Or if you like Eastern Fantasy, Forty Mileniums of cultivation has a well developed characters and gave the side characters more screen time to show their depth.
(Fair warning: the story can be a bit touching and might incite tears)
