Hi everyone, Can I have your advices on one thing please 🙏 I m writting on wattpad and I has been contacted for contracts and for write my book here... My question is : Is the ap webnovel really safe for autors of books ?
( I m French, sorry for mistakes) hope you have understand 😊
Stay safe

Well I myself am a newly contracted author so my reply may not be that effective, but according to what I have seen, its pretty safe & nice. The people from wn who are assigned to help you are really good and helpful.

hello may I ask if it's okay if I will start updating my story by December? I mean now in November I'm going to rest from being an author for a while 'cuz my schedule is so tight and I can't handle it anymore :< So what my point Is if it's fine if I'm not going to update 2-3 chaps per week instead continue it in December, it's ok tho?

EunoiaPryn umm... You can decrease the update srate but you should atleast uodate 2 chapters a weak or else your novel may never get a contract. Its popularity will fall down. My advice as an author.

Your own life is important, and if you feel you can't handle the workload, then take a break. Have an announcement chapter to explain the situation and that you'll be coming back in December. Also update your novel's front page (I don't know what you call it, but the website that has your synopsis, table of content and reviews) to indicate this.

Yes, you will have the risk of losing readers during your hiatus but those that like your novel will remain. They appreciate the heads-up and are generally understanding. What's more important is that you do return and update consistently.

Too many Authors say "I need a break" then never come back. Thus, when you DO come back, and the readers realise this, they readers will come back too. It will take time, but don't worry about it too much.

Use the break to write when you can so that you can stockpile, then have a steady update in December. These are my own personal feelings and thoughts as an Author. I've taken 1-2 weeks break before for the same reasons as you, then when I came back, I still gave my daily updates. Sometimes, even mass release.

You just do what is best for you.

Yes, Agree to you...3 of my contracted novels ( 2 completed and 1 still ongoing are currently under the pirates site...sigh...even if my books are not popular....) All pirate sites should go to hell! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

I am planning on going hiatus for 3 months so I can stockpile my chapter and be eligible for the Minimum Guarantee System. Will I lose my contract if I go on hiatus? I'm a contracted author and I'm just worrying if they will remove my contract I don't update for a few months.
A lot of my readeds are asking for daily updates and I am unable to do that because my day job takes up almosg of my waking hours and I can only write during the weekends. In order to give daily updates, I would have to stockpile some chapters for a few months.

hi im a contracted author someone told me that if i started writing novel this month the MGS or my first 4 months pay of USD will start on next month so it means Its because I've started writing this november the MGS will start on december so my question is....how may i know if im going to researve a dollar? They will contact me? And how can i get it? Im sorry im a newbie and minor so i dont have any idea about this.

Tanya_Winters Sorry for the late reply. Was kinda busy so haven't been checking the forums.

Nah, don't worry. I see so many novels out there that have been on hiatus for months and still manage to continue. I would, however, suggest the following:

                1. Tell your readers about it in an auxiliary chapter labelling it 'announcement'
                2. Change your story status to 'hiatus' (in the settings)
                3. Can even use the announcement feature (Stories > Novel > Promote)

The above is basically for your readers and future readers, really. Webnovel is pretty cool about authors going on hiatus cuz they understand most of us aren't robots and/or writing for fun.

MGS starts when you go privilege (ie locked chapters) and not when you get contracted.

Also, privilege is only activated every Thursdays. So, say that you went privilege on 5 / 12 / 19 / 26 November 2020. MGS only starts in December i.e. 1 December 2020.

Mi_amor_ sorry for the late reply! well if everything hasn't been done yet, i may still be able to answer your questions.
I Think, the main 2 types of contracts are royalty and non royalty one, right? in the fist kind we basically promise WN of not posting our content anywhere else, while in the non royalty contract we can post on other sites as well. we can go premium from both of the contracts but the main difference between them would be the revenue we get. in a non royalty contract, the revenue we get would be far less than what we'll get by signing a royalty one. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG!! i hope i was of some help.
