As I noted in a previous post Book_Keeper, I'm merely reading, assessing, and indexing story recommendations on my blog. I am not providing any feedback besides the numerical score. But since many are still asking for it, I thought of a bullet-point format that would allow me to give feedback to a large volume of novels.
However, since I want to keep this thread on-topic to recommendations, and making another associated thread would make the process possibly confusing or cumbersome, I'm only going to provide this feedback to assessed stories through the Discord.
I've noticed that with both other people's feedback and mine, writers don't often apply advice that they're given. I know that many writers are hobbyist as it's difficult to making it a career or have time to be truly serious amidst life responsibilities. But it is a shame when the rare, well-thought out reviews I've encountered are wasted. So I'm hoping that the conversational discussion format of Discord might help to address this while also filtering out those who are truly serious in improving their craft.
Whether or not this idea will work, we'll see. For now, this will be another way to help authors (and indirectly readers, too) which I can amend in the future if need be.
