It's a novel by Mao Ni, the same author who wrote Ze Tian Ji, Jiang Ye and etc, so I have high expectations for it.

I really don't know why we can't have some decent new novels to read - were there any really good ones lately?
Celiane Those published recently are... not so good, and not the most optimal choices in my opinion. I don't know any untranslated ones (I don't read Chinese), but there are those novels with few chapters out that I and many others liked:
Great Tang Idyll (田园大唐)
Legend of the Great Saint (大圣传)
My Daoist Life (我的修道人生)
Heaven’s Shadow (天影)
The Nine Godheads (九重神格)
Heaven Awakening Path (天醒之路)
And obviously The Outcast.
Perhaps not picking them up is related to the translation being difficult and demanding (and those novels need very loving translators and editors), yet it's really unfortunate that we can't read more of them.

Eques I agree, the majority are bad or average.
The Nine Godheads:
Too bad it was dropped by the author, so that's probably why nobody wants to translate the remaining chapters.

Great Tang Idyll is certainly more difficult to translate compared to most other novels. I assume Legend of the Cultivation God is also having the same problem. Legend of the Cultivation God is one of the better novels that I want to see getting picked up as well. It is indeed a shame seeing all these great novels not being translated right now and there's nothing much we can do about it either.
