Do I really need a proof reader when I'm fluent in English, I'm new to this app someone sent me a message on Wattpad to write stories,I uploaded the first chapter on saturday and sent the link to the editor and she told me they'll go through it for about a month,do they actually get back to people after a month? And do they actually pay you
$200 a month after you sign the contract with them?

I don't know anything about Wattpad, but proofreading is just so that your work will be in the best shape it can be when it's published! For example, I see several problems with that paragraph of questions you wrote. Your first question is a run-on sentence and should be cut apart into multiple sentences to make better sense. There should also be spaces after the commas. If this is how you write your stories, I don't see a problem with you getting an editor (no offense intended). Even the most acclaimed authors in the world have editors.

I don't think you need a proof reader period on webnovel. Use grammarly and that should do the trick. Make sure to correct typos when pointed out. You can get a friend to pre-read quickly your chapters before releasing too. (Or a fan)

Proofreading just ensures (hopefully) the released work is in the best state it can be.

Strictly speaking, no you don't need a proof reader. Being fluent in English or it being your third language recently adopted. As the writer its up to you how perfect you desire each chapter to be. There's plenty of books on here that are quite popular but may as well be copy pastes from a machine translation.
