  • App's chapter text has turned into strange symbols - READ THIS!

If you're an Android app user (I'm not too sure if this issue has affected iOS users as well), whenever you open a chapter, you may see strange symbols in place of actual text. Don't worry, you haven't accidentally tapped into the God Realm. No, if you somehow manage to decipher the text, you won't be given secret cultivation manuals.

Go to your profile, click settings and then click 'Clear Cache'. This should solve the problem (If you have downloaded any books, THEY WILL be deleted and you WILL have to redownload them)

If that doesn't help, you might have to wait until the Tech Team fix it, however, in the meantime, you can use the mobile site to read instead. https://m.webnovel.com

If clearing the cache doesn't work, try zipping up your 'book' folder in your Qidian folder (on your phone) and send it to the developers. You can send it through the app. Profile>Suggestions. It will allow you to create an email to appsuggestions@webnovel.com

    @Neverfire7 hey man, i encountered this issue where i load a new chapter and half way read through it, i would be interrupted as the chapter scroll up to the beginning(of the chapter). Is there any known way to fix this? Btw,this happened several times today.

      Autarch_GRIM Hmm, that sort of thing only happens to me when I'm reading on my iPad... But due to it being slow, chrome will sort of refresh the app or tab I'm on, bringing me back to the top of the chapter. Have you seen if this issue occurs with other devices as well?

        Neverfire7 for now, none. And the only platform i used to log on qidian is an android. This kinda stifle me a lot today.. is there anyone you know, inside, that know how to prevent this?

          Clearing cache and redownloading didnt help my books, im afraid. Thank you for the info. I hope everyone else's library survives this. I just wonder what caused this phenomenon and how do I avoid it next time?

            AntiBallisticMayo Ah, that's unfortunate. The tech team would probably find it helpful if you could send a zipped version of your 'book' folder. You can continue your reading on the mobile site. As for what caused it, I believe the latest app update has a bug... there's no way you can avoid, I guess.

            It only affects the Premium books (so far)
            The chapters affected would be every chapter starting chapter 1 until the recent chapter. once you have unlocked and closed a chapter, that chapter would also be unreadable.

            This is a bug in the premium chapter system when downloading the books.
