Pros;
DL books for offline reading.
Less battery consumption compared to a browser.
Cons;
Ads are designed for mobile. They take up the whole screen. Around 5 MB per ad if you are lucky.
Browser
Pros;
Ads are less invasive and could be avoided all together
Cons:
DL books for offline reading cannot be done through the site. You will have to go to another site where you can dl or DIY
My experience.
I exclusively use the app since I always use my phone to read. I could use my browser on mobile but that becomes tiresome as I would have to keep my data on all the time. Instead, I unlock all the chapters, turn off data and read at my own pace. My monthly data consumption is around 400MB for the app (Last 30 days as per usage stats also does not include the times I used Wifi I think)
It's basically as @Kingfisher says only my phone battery always seems to be low. When it's high, I'm generally travelling to and from school so I use it to read. I don't really use the offline mode and if I did, I don't think it would sway my decision much.
Otherwise, I'm at home (in my room. alone.) so I tend to use my laptop because I enjoy the wider screen which means less clutter. Switching between the Jianghu and Webnovel itself is easier to do on a laptop so I try to use it whenever I can.
If you travel a lot, I recommend you use the app.
If you're at home/work a lot, I recommend you use a computer browser.
I used to use the app a lot, but I switched phones and it didn't carry over, and I haven't bothered myself over redownloading it yet. Personally, I would say the app is pretty good, but not anything that you absolutely must have. It doesn't make much difference, for me, whether or not I use the app or the web browser.

This is a little bit too much for mobile, I couldn't use it if I'm not on wifi :( They should at list try to filter adds for mobile, to remove heavy video adds ...
