It's sci-fi, but hard sci-fi. So everything abides by the laws of physics.
It follows Jordan Astros, a citizen of the meritocratic Galilean Powers.
In the Powers, where virtually no laws exist and a merit system is put into place so that humans don't become pestilent in their technologically advanced, post-scarcity society, every action a Galilean takes influences the balance of their merit points, which in turn determines their ranking, which determines their standard of living.
Jordan specifically, is a member of a quasi-criminal organization known as the Astros Clan. And participates in the sanctioned combat areas on the surfaces of Jupiter's 79 moons to raise his merit through campaigns. Due to his background and the general lifestyle in the Powers, Jordan is definitely not a hero. Everything is gray-gray conflict, meaning that no matter how 'horrible' someone's actions may seem, they usually have a good reason for doing so.

This is my novel, I think it fits perfectly what you're describing. It's very psychological and has a lot of mystery. It's only two chapters long right now, but it's being updated very often, since I have the bulk of it written, and am just rewriting it to make it a lot better. Here's the synopsis:
