Synopsis:
Red Springfield is tired of her dull life. She has had enough of this rat's race and just wants out.
A breather sounds good.
One fateful day when she visited her grandmama's apartment after skipping work, she met a flower shop owner who had dreamy emerald eyes and jet black hair. He gave her flowers dainty as stars after they unceremoniously bumped into each other (thanks to Red's clumsiness).
That same day, Red awakens from a strange dream, and was mind-boggled by her grandmama insisting the weather was stormy but when she looked outside, it was a perfectly clear night with not so much a cloud in the sky, the full moon shining bright.
She decided to check the weather from the apartment's rooftop but what (rather, who) welcomed her was not a storm nor clear skies, but a man in his late-twenties looking a lot like the flower boy, proclaiming he was her sworn warrior and saying she was his future queen!
And no, she isn't just a future queen of humans of the earthly realm, but that of magical beings called Faeys!
Vampire? Faeys with blood magic.
Werewolf? Animal shapeshifting faeys.
Angels and Demons? Light and Dark faeys.
Little Mermaid? Faeys who live in bodies of water.
Tinkerbell? Pesky little faeys called 'sprite' and no they aren't soft drinks.
Her whole childhood fairytales, down the drain in just one night!
What lays ahead of her now? Will she accept her fate as a queen candidate and fight her way to the crown? Or will she bail out along the way because she lacked self-confidence?
What the fuck is with her uncontrollable attraction (and annoyance) to the flower boy?
WHY?!
She will just have to discover it out herself.
Novel Excerpt:
Vast fields filled with flowers; tiny white stars dancing in the wind. A picturesque golden hour, seconds before twilight, gave the flowers an eerily brilliant look as if they were ablaze.
She started to walk slowly. The grass beneath her bare feet felt like freshly harvested cotton. From afar, she could see a glass castle looming.
Gravitating towards where she is.
It came closer and closer and closer until she was facing her own reflection.
She had worn a long linen dress with ribbons tied across her bodice. Her eyes were stark and she jumped at how ghastly she looked. All of a sudden, the glass castle disappeared and she was left naked inside an empty white room void of life.
Nothing. There was nothing here.
And then a voice called out.
‘Your kingdom awaits my queen.’
‘All you need is to wake up.’
Wake up.
She needs to wake up.
