Maybe you can check out my work. I'm not gonna pretend that my novel is the most unique story out there but all I'll say that it is different than the stories you'd normally find here. It's a fantasy work, urban fantasy to be specific, that is heavy on worldbuilding and character centric. It does not have game mechanics or cultivations or lovable MC with OP powers...or revenge-seeking angsty MC with OP powers.
It's about a guy who does not feel very special who happens to find something that might make him special with heavy costs and sacrifices attached to it.

Name = Grimoire: Atonement of Souks
Genre = Urban Fantasy, Supernatural, Mystery, Action
Basic Summary = It's about a 16 year old guy, Aarav, who accidently steps up into an age old war between demons and grim reapers where he tries to save a little boy from 3 black robed people and ends up getting chased by a tentacled monster.
Full Summary =
Aarav ran away.
Who could really blame him, though? The list of things Aarav that didn't excel at was long and humiliating, borderline pathetic even. A list that included fighting too. So when he encounters a group of monk-looking assailants in black with books floating next to them, ganging up on a little harmless kid…he wasn't exactly sure how to deal with that situation. More so, when that strange encounter snowballs into him being attacked by a giant tentacled monster; he did the only thing he excelled at—he ran away.
Being able to see the dead since his birth was strange enough for him but being chased by a monster was taking things a bit too far. But now thrust into the strange world of dead souls, demons and grim reapers; Aarav has to make a choice. Does he continue to live in the ignorance of the blurred lines of two worlds, or will he muster up the courage to do what is right? To save the people close to him, no matter the lengths he has to go to achieve that goal.
Even if it required his own death.

Hope you check it out and like it!! ^ _ ^

CAN A SINGLE MOM, DIVORCED AND HEART BROKEN FIND LOVE AGAIN?

Hi, i have a psychological thriller. Maybe you would like to try reading it.

Name of novel is (Rage of whispers)

        Here is an excerpt

Now, the concept of a human's shadow defines that the less it is embodied in an
individual's conscious life the blacker and denser it is. Gen was six years old
when she witnessed her mother's death which was quite gruesome and traumatic
for a child her age but according to my investigation, she never showed any
form of emotional instability. She never shed a tear after the funeral or
showed any hint that she misses her parents. Her house keeper was adamant when she said that Gen acted like she normally did even when her two siblings abandoned her. It is safe to assume that innocence can overcome something traumatic
because it can overshadow the gravity and darkness of what's in front of them.
But it also safe to assume that an individual can suppress their emotion
        even at a young age."

"The idea behind the shadow concept dictates that the shadow is developed and
nurtured in the early stages of an individual’s life. The way i see it, Genelyn
Calderon has been suppressing and numbing herself at an early age. You have to understand doctor Zackary that we are greatly influenced even controlled by the
unconscious forces of our shadow. And if one keeps feeding and failing to
control or unite with their shadow one might find themselves failing to suppress
        the power that it harnessed."

Zackary felt at a loss for words, yes he had heard of the shadow concept but what
exactly is the old doctor implying. He decided to keep a mental note of the
questions brewing within him and allowed doctor Mori to continue.

"I believe that her subconscious or ego became powerful where it swallowed her
consciousness and as a result a physical projection of all her suppressed
emotion was created by means of the apparition. As you already know, the human
mind is capable of many things. The. Placebo effect for example allows our body
to repair by the mere believe that something we did expelled whatever we were suffering from.

Ok, so I'm coming waaaaaayyyy after the battle here ! In my defence, covid got me and my family and we had a jolly good time with my whole family. But I'm back on track.

Care to share what kind of plot you hate ? So I can tell you if my romance novels would suit what you're looking for ?

This being said, I've got a few that might deviate from the standard:
God's gift; Frances steps into a church for the first time in her life, and meets destiny in the form of a priest.

          Stage Fright:
It was something extraordinary, really, that led me to him. A twist of fate. A twist of luck. But pure chance, certainly not. Especially here, there, in my home town.*

Last, but not least, a student – teacher romance :
Toeing the line: Short story, complete.

I think the first and last plot should be original. The second, I'm not too sure.

Let me know if you read it, and enjoy :) Have a great day, night, evening ? Wherever you are.

            NPC Code: Red Riding Hood

            NPC Code: Red Riding Hood

"A kingdom overturned by its foes can ascend once more. But one which shatters the inside? That’s game over.”

Red is an NPC villager of the popular game called “Code” inside the Holographic Reality. The game announces an event and invites every player to defend the village under the kingdom of Freiy. Red immediately realises that her family in danger and rushes to the forest to save them. Red and her sister, Clementine, then stumble upon a monster with immense arcane. Fortunately, an adventurer passes by and attempts to save them, only to see him flee from the scene. Because of his cowardness, the two fall into despair, leaving Red learning the truth behind the game.

This novel is the story of an NCP character being aware that she is inside a game.

SrtaA Indeed, some say there are only 7 types of stories (some say there are 36), but here is an example of the 7 archetypal stories:

              1. Overcoming the monster - Beowulf, Dracula, Star Wars, etc.
              2. Rags to riches — Aladdin, Cinderella, etc
              3. The quest - Lord of the Rings, Illiad, etc
              4. Voyage and Return - Alice & Wonderland, The Hobbit, Orpheus, etc
              5. Comedy - too numerous
              6. Tragedy - too numerous
              7. Rebirth - Groundhog Day, A Christmas Carol, etc

d_elfe It would depend on the ultimate plot of the romance. For example, Romeo & Juliet is clearly a tragedy. Beauty and the Beast is Overcoming the monster, it just so happens that the monster is also the male lead.

Many romances are also comedies, and a lot fill in the rebirth category. Rebirth is “something happens and the main character is forced to change and (usually) ultimately become a better individual.” That is the plot of many romance novels, actually. Just that the “something that happens” is the male lead.

Fairy766965 that's super interesting. And very enlightening.
So far, I managed to find the category in which two of of my romance novels are. I can't find the third, though. As for my french book... definitely the quest, I guess :)

The most common plot for a romance novel written for a female audience is “Overcoming the monster.” Where a, usually young and nubile, girl tames a wild or dangerous man. This is why vampires, pirate captains and emotionally unavailable billionaires are such common tropes in romance.

The obvious example, despite how often people trash it, is Twilight. But Beauty and the Beast is probably the most iconic. Anita Blake and similar urban fantasy novels fall into this archetype as well.

Fairy766965 I never read "Twilight" this way. I always thought of it as a history of Ambition, or if you want, a Ugly Duckling.
Case is, Edward doesn't need taming, he's tamed already by his foster parents. You know, he's a virgin vampire of 150 years who goes to high school and is 'vegetarian'. Some cats need more taming than him.

Once she discovers he's a vampire, she covets to be as special as him and be taken from her "tedious" life with a strict parent and no glamorous life. He's her golden chance (that's why she can't pick the Werewolf guy, he's from a socially stigmatized ethnicity and as poor as her, or even poorer). At the end of the first book is really set that she wants to be a vampire. - Ambition

And, oh, she looks common on the outside, but somewhat she has "The Scent" so she's special. - Ugly Duckling.
It's really interesting if you start to see her as an ambitious girl than as a clueless one.

SrtaA Thats very insightful! I have to say it’s quite compelling, I don’t really blame Bella — I would have made the same choices she made for the same reasons you suppose. I mean, on the one hand I can be an immortal millionaire but might have trouble around people or on the other hand I can be the poor wife of a werewolf living on the reservation.

Considering I’m a homebody introvert anyway at anything close to equal affection I’d pick Vampy boy every day and twice on Sunday.

                          Fairy766965
I think Anita Blake is in its own... place entirely. I mean, the entire romance line is a mess. A glorious mess, but a mess. Not in a sense that it's bad, but in a sense that in comparison to a standart romance line it's like PoE's skill trees in comparison to any other skill tree.
SrtaA > Some cats need more taming than him.
                          Lol XD
As for Bella and her choices, she is (intentionally) a type of a character everyone want to be. Except, we wouldnt want to be HER specifically coz she is very lame as a person.

But speaking of new things, and old things, and playing with ideas. A lot of cool stuff can happen by just playing with tropes. It won't be entirely original, but then, as someone said above, every story is made by rethinking every story before it.
In a sense, literature evolves just like everything else does - with trial and error.
But, anyway. In all honesty, I mostly just wanted to share. I found that cool author, Garessta, who likes to do that stuff. They don't write parodies, but they take old tropes and improve on them, make them fresh and actually making sense for once (in case of tropes that don't normally make sense). Like their story for one of the latest WPCs, My Vampire Assistant. There's only a hint of it yet, but I think its going to make something really fun of that classical FL-Vampire-Werewolf love triangle. And I know its going to be fun because 1) the story is already fun 2) I've read Garessta's other one, Eve of the Doomsday, and it did the trope deconstruction so well

luckyone4812 Check out my new series, Super Dick: Season 1. I promise you it's different. The name is suggestive but it's not one of those. Here's the synopsis.

Super Dick is a mild mannered nitwit that doesn’t have a filter between his brain and mouth, and oddly, he is the one thing in the entire universe that the omnipotent being known as The Narrator, can’t control. As you follow Super Dick on his adventures, The Narrator will be, well, narrating in his typical offensive fashion. Along with his sidekick Microchip, and the government spy agency, UNCLE SAM, Super Dick will defend Cloud City and the world from any threat that arises, the only problem is that their greatest threat is the one that controls the narrative.
