Hi, I just wanted to ask is it normal for colls to not increase if I am a newbei and writing a completely new novel? I update 3-4 times per week and the chapter lengths remain 1k or so. I am getting views but no coll for 3 weeks now. Should I be worried? Or keep on writing?
Collections not going up
AliceSki Does the view you are saying in the "about novel" or it's the valid reads?
The valid reads is where you click write, click your books, at the top right corner, there are small bar. Touch that bar, and look for calid reads. That's the reader's count that you can at least trust. Even collection has bot but, it's not as exaggerated as the readers bot. Collection bot only a 1 to 3 different from the original.
Last 6ear, we have comments bot, funny, because every new author is panicking. But, the bot has not runn amok after a week and the story has become a history.

Also, you shouldn't be worried. Continue on writing. Collections will come with time and dedication. Put your heart (and brain) into it, and the rest will follow.

Yoan_Roturier I did promote it in the monthly promotion threads. But i don't have friends who like reading novels over comics so Def that's not gonna work and I also can't input the cover pic in the forum.

??? impossible... Other authors can input the cover on the forum I don't why you couldn't.
As for your friend, just ask them to create an account add your book to the library. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
Monthly promotion threads is... hum. Let's say that if you don't end up at the top 20 posts on that thread, the chances of your novel being read by someone is downright zero.
Just continue to write, try to be active on the forum. Find other writers to help you. Be social and stuff. You'll eventually come to have readers at some point.
Yoan_Roturier there is no option to post a pic so idk, from now on I will try to post quicker on the forum . And I only have two friends, one of them doesn't read English books and I just had an argument with the other. So no chance in that. Btw thanks for the tips •

Carciphones_02 Ah, I entered wsa. But with such a high competition, I might not even get contracted let alone anything else. And I gained some readers participating in the pilot read. After that no increase in colls at all.

Promote your book on the forums, but make sure you read and follow the rules for promotion, or your book could be banned.
